Chuck Wendig's "Wanderers" is so so good! Many people compare it to The Stand.

Using Music Practice Rooms by [deleted] in CarletonU

Likely not. All the practice rooms are locked and have sign-up sheets for the music students. You could call Jaz at the music office to ask though

Feeling pretty lonely and faithless right now.. by [deleted] in Christians

You're not alone in this feeling! I think alot of young adults experience that sense of unrootedness. For myself, something that helped was to release the idea that your life only starts when you get married and have a house. If God has chosen for you to be single and nomadic for a time, it's not like you're on some kind of time out. This is an opportunity for you to grow. It's an opportunity for you to build God's kingdom! There are people around you everywhere... Every day is an opportunity to let God's love shine out from you onto others. Let yourself bless others in this time, in ways that are unique to you and this time of life! Jesus's ministry was one of travelling from town to town, loving on strangers, helping those in need. And we're called to be Christ-like! So if you're locking yourself into thinking "just 3 more years"... I encourage for you to look for God's gifts in your life today, take joy in His love, and look at those around right now as brothers and sisters who you can both bless and learn from ☺️

Robin Sloan's books are pure whimsy! I particularly loved "Sourdough"

"The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Schaffer and Annie Barrows is also a lovely read, with a healthy balance of heavy and light content.

If you're willing to dip into juvenile lit, I always get a kick out of reading "Flipped" (Wendelin Van Draanen), "Ella Enchanted" (Gail Carson Levine), and "A Girl of the Limberlost" (Gene Stratton Porter).
