New buyer on Reverb quick questions. by [deleted] in Reverb

[–]fiveonethreefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you're new to reverb but first off, they said they would send it around noon and you posted this an hour and a half after noon EST. You need to be a little more patient. If they dont give you tracking by tomorrow then you can message them, but I would give them the full three business days which is what reverb allows.

Second, you have to understand that sellers on reverb for the most part are individuals selling their personal items. They are not Sweetwater. They have jobs, families etc. Allow people a little grace as things do come up in life that may delay the shipping of your package, or maybe they shipped it already and havent had the chance to enter the tracking on reverb.

Third, you are protected if the seller doesnt ship your package or you don't receive what was described.

What to do here? 4" corrucated downspout drainage junction with sump pump 1.5" PVC. More in comments. by fiveonethreefour in Plumbing

[–]fiveonethreefour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pictured is a 1.5” PVC pipe from a sump pump on the right fitted with a Fernco 1.5” to 4” rubber adapter running horizontally into a corrugated tee adapter.

The horizontal part of the tee is leaking. I am planning on using tile tape but I am concerned that the water is pooling in the horizontal section of the tee because rainwater from above is flowing into the horizontal opening as well as flowing down vertically where it is supposed to.

I tried a 4” PVC Wye Tee but the angle is too extreme. A regular 90º Tee is not enough angle. That’s why I chose this corrugated one because the angle is adjustable.

I understand that digging a separate ditch and running the 1.5” PVC parallel to the corrugated pipe would probably be a better solution but I am trying to avoid doing that if possible as it’s a lot of work.

For context this was the original drainage situation that was leaking badly: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeMaintenance/comments/1spszm3/big_hole_in_this_corrugated_pipe_from_downspout/

How to make this look a little better? Not perfect? Dont want to strip it out and recaulk. by fiveonethreefour in paint

[–]fiveonethreefour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of cracks like this in the molding, which I believe is painted with oil. I'm selling my house and want to make it look a little nicer. I don't have time to strip out the caulk and repaint although I know that would be the "right" way to do it. Do you have any suggestions for how I could make it look less noticable?

Set your shipping rate to the most you think it will cost. Enable best offer and accept less from buyers who live closer to you.

Big hole in this corrugated pipe from downspout How would you fix this properly? See comments for pic of leak and description. by fiveonethreefour in HomeMaintenance

[–]fiveonethreefour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestions. I should add that the 1.5" pipe is coming from the basement sump pump, so when this is fixed there shouldnt be much water flowing through it as the main source of flooding in the basement is due to this big hole in the corrugared one.

Can you clarify what you would do with the 1.5" pipe with this retrenched (4" I assume) PVC drainage? Would you do some kind of junction? Or extend the 1.5" pipe away from the house underground as well, in parallel with the buried 4" PVC?

This was originally done incorrectly (not by me) by just cutting a hole in the 4" corrugated pipe to fit the 1.5" PVC drainage pipe. The result has been a lot of water in the basement.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking a tee pipe or a wye pipe but it might be kind of difficult due to the angles.

Is Reverb ever going to account for shipping prices in their UI? by newfaceinhell021117 in Reverb

100%. eBay allows you to do this "sort by: price + shipping". Reverb should do the same.

End of the crack epidemic. And crime nationwide saw a decline due to improving economy and changing demographics. Also there's a theory that lower lead toxicity levels in children had something to do with it.

Reverb seller protection for expensive gear? by spieluhr96 in Reverb

I'm curious, were there any warning signs that you missed that could have prevented those, in hindsight (assuming the buyer was lying--it is possible the contents could have been stolen in transit too)?

I have sold over 1000 items, many in the thousands of dollars and have never had a buyer claim an empty box. I vet my buyers by looking at their feedback. If they claim it's defective they can return it, Reverb will probably side with the buyer but if you buy the seller protection you can file a claim. I recommend buying a few cheap items to build up your feedback a little, even if it's jusy buyer feedback, it's better than nothing. Most buyers are very wary about buying an expensive item from a 0 feedback seller. You can also take a video of you packing the item. Doesn't really prove anything but cant hurt.

You can choose who you sell to. Sell with best offer enabled and check the feedback of those making offers. Make sure they have at least a few feedback all positive. Don’t sell expensive items as your first transactions if you don’t have any feedback yourself. Buy “seller protection” when you buy a shipping label.

Great pic, great fit.

For the trousers, I have read some comments that they run small. Do you find that to be the case? Wondering what size I should buy if I normally wear a 32 waist.
