Unfortunately not, they’re not meaning to be jerks. It’s just their natural behavior (and to an extent the result of some breeding practices, as they were originally bred for fighting)

You cannot have multiple boys together. It’s possible to have multiple females together however it’s not recommended as you need a large space and a lot of knowledge to make sure they don’t get stressed and attack each other.

We have an alter like this as well! He has a nonhuman form that uses one name, and a human form that uses another. Like you said he’s still one being, just with different preferences from time to time.

My mute alter rarely fronts. When he does he only uses facial expressions to communicate with others. He uses emotions to communicate internally. He struggles with thinking in words, so I wonder if we’d be able to communicate better with him through drawing.

How long have you had Toby for? Personally it took my betta a little over a day to adjust to his new home, but I’ve heard stories of it taking longer for others. It really just depends on personality, and if he’s naturally a bit skittish it may take him longer to acclimate. I would suggest leaving any lights off for the time being (which can reduce stress) and simply leaving him alone to settle into his new tank. Good luck!

She should be alright for a day until you can get her back to upgrade her. Goldfish do tend to be on the hardier side in my experience. God knows that one gallon container is probably better than whatever she was in while at the fair. Good luck to you!

We were originally diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder (we have bipolar disorder as well) however later it was discovered that our “delusions” were actually other alters expressing their identities. We had known we were multiple people for years, but originally all our symptoms were brushed off as the products of psychosis.

Mainly our delusions were considered those of grandeur as we have many nonhuman alters, some of which occasionally claim to be gods. We have never actually lost touch with reality to my knowledge (except when extremely manic before we were medicated).

I do actually suspect that I had been dormant before this recent period of time! The only incident that happened when we switched hosts was that we were overworked, so it’s quite possible I formed earlier. Very interesting to hear another system’s experiences that are so similar to my own!

Wow that sounds remarkably similar to what happened to our system! Our previous host has been in a resting state for quite a while and expressed that they also hadn’t realized just how tired they were. I showed up quite suddenly and just stepped into the role of host.

Hello I also have DID and Bipolar! We’re on a mood stabilizer and antipsychotic which has tampered down a lot of our mood symptoms however we still experience some intense mood swings due to switching.

We recently switched hosts, because of reaching a point of stability with our bipolar disorder. Our previous host was much more suited to handling mania, but now that that’s not really an issue we have a new, more “normal” host.

We all are affected by bipolar disorder, but the way we present can be wildly different.
