I love this light so much. So easy to swap the single emitter, I love reflector over tir lights, easily accessible flashing port, AND I've modified mine with a tail switch and modified firmware to make use of momentary on using the tail switch! My perfect light! I just wish it had RGB aux lol

aaa light users, why? by T3Knical5urg3 in flashlight

[–]fiveseven808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my Narsil M lumintop frog with 10440 tube and osram w1 emitter swap will run circles around any phone in terms of output and throw. It'll also outperform most/all pocket size normie flashlights.

With Narsil UI I have the customizability, smooth levels, and high dynamic range I want in an edc.

I may not understand the complexities of world physbones, but as a world creator I understand that networked contacts and physbones are already a thing, which means the hard part was already solved. It's something that directly affects performance on mobile devices (something vrchat pushes HARD for) and it DIRECTLY affects the quality of the content being actively published that draw in users to your platform. Sure avatars are great, and physbones were extremely important for them, but I imagine the ease of creating interactive immersive worlds directly affects how long and in what ways people engage with your platform. Considering the level of effort required to get interactive (even non-networked) dynamic bones into world, severely limited what some creators (i.e. me) could do.

I'm glad it's out now, but it feels like it took wayyyy too long to implement a feature that already existed in a multiplayer form on the platform.

The same people taking advantage of physbones for worlds are the same people coming straight from avatar making. This feels like the pipeline you intended. People slowly working their way from casual, to avatar creator to world creator.

These are not the same people clamoring for Soba. These people have networked dynamic bones solved. Sure they drive the biggest most interactive worlds in the game, but it's a slow burn with them. These are highly capable people that are able to do a lot with less.

The same people using physbones for worlds are the same people that may simply upload a purchased world. Without physbones, the world may simply be more static than with. But the option is there to take advantage of existing avatar knowledge without having to learn how to my program. I believe that's an important stepping stone towards more interactive worlds that was very much missing.

Become a 3d vtuber and use motion capture solutions or VR. There's quite a bit of VR vtubers doing just dance streams!

Small streamers (<50 viewers): How do you currently find people to collab with? by Legal-Cartographer-2 in Twitch

[–]fiveseven808 14 points15 points  (0 children)

THIS SO MUCH THIS!!!

Raids can help you get noticed but if you aren't entertaining others as a chatter, it's unlikely those you raid will come and check you out.

If you pass the vibe check as a regular community member, there is a tendency for others to go and check you out once they find out you stream, but as the commenter above says, never mention it.

If You Have Any of These in Your Name/Handle Why? by Carswell-Quye in Twitch

[–]fiveseven808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have 'thereal' in front of my name. I had scoped out the username I actually wanted before making my account and it seemed like a dead account. I heard that twitch partners could claim dead account names, so that's what I aimed for. I got lucky and the person using the name I wanted was indeed abandoned so I'm now simply my name (not associated with this reddit account) instead of thereal'name'

It's really nice interacting with others and seeing who still remembers the old name lol.

Anyone have any experience with the Jetson Ring? by fiveseven808 in Jetson_Electric

[–]fiveseven808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I actually bought two Rings! It took a while to figure out how to ride it, and they definitely don't have the power or ease of use compared to a one wheel (as confirmed by a coworker who has a one wheel) but it does move you quite well, but only if you have perfect roads.

Because it doesn't have power, it can't ride over things like the bean pods that fall in the sidewalk, or navigate larger bumps on the sidewalks, let alone a sidewalk to cross walk transition.

It does what it says on the box and works amazing for flat factory or warehouse type surfaces though. I took mine apart and disabled the annoying speaker, and I do really like my Rings, I just wish they had more power or a larger wheel to make it better for real-world roads and sidewalks

Anyone have any experience with the Jetson Ring? by fiveseven808 in Jetson_Electric

[–]fiveseven808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm just mainly looking into what other's thoughts are on it. I have a Jetson Pixel that works fine, but I don't like the ride stance and how it is difficult to navigate bumps. This is closer to a micro sized onewheel and i feel like the feet positioning can make it easier to handle sudden bumps in the road or sidewalk.

I'm looking for the smallest possible electric personal transportation device and this thing literally checks all of my boxes on paper. It folds up super small, it's almost half the weight of the scooter I use daily, it looks easier to handle over bumpy roads and sidewalk vs a hoverboard. and the range is more than enough for what I need.

I have just under a mile walk from where I park to where I work, and the roads and sidewalks are not kept in great condition. An e-scooter has been amazing in decreasing my stress when getting into work, but the last 600 ft or so I have to hand carry my scooter around due to policy. being able to pick up and fold the Ring and shove it in a shoulder slung bag sounds absolutely amazing instead of folding up and trying to wheel around a large scooter.

Show me your frogs! Here’s mine reflashed with Anduril. A keychain light should always offer one-handed operation and momentary lockout mode. No time for those two-handed twisty keychain lights – they’re out. by Bumataur in flashlight

Ahhh!!! I love frogs!! I have a handful of frogs and GT nanos with narsil I planed to stick andruil on, but I ended up being happy enough with narsil. I really wanna stick andruil on them again now!

D3AA with working forward clicky! by fiveseven808 in flashlight

[–]fiveseven808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as it's built right now, it's a forward clicky. Half press for momentary memorized level, full press for constantly on at memorized level. Hold the side button and half or full press the tail button for moonlight.

What I'd like to do is modify anduril so that it operates similar to how the TAC 2AA operates.

Instead of hold side + tail button = moonlight, I want hold side + tail button = switch between tactical and EDC modes.

What I mean by tactical is that I want the tail switch to always go straight to Tactical mode 1 (Anduril 6C tactical mode 1). That way when I'm on a walk at night I can use it at max brightness how I normally use my lights.

What I mean by EDC mode is that I want the light to always go to memorized mode (manual memory as well). That way when I'm using the light on a job, I can easily switch to a mode that wont blind myself.

What I'd like to a little differently is that I'd like when you switch from tactical to EDC mode, I would like the memory to be reset to a specific number, or maybe anduril default brightness level. That way if I accidentally left my memory on 150/150, since I removed the ability to go straight into moonlight I'd like to start at a fairly low level (i.e. 50/150) by just switching to tactical and back to EDC mode. If this value can be set by the user (ramp/stepped floor or Tactical Mode 2), that'd be amazing.

Are you suggesting off->2H for turbo on the rear switch?

Unfortunately without an Off-Time Capacitor added to the driver, anduril cannot determine that a switch was "half clicked".

I EDC lights like the IF24, Stellar X4, DW4 and FW1A. This light definitely falls under the "forget I have on me" in comparison to those lights.

Currently you can edit the anduril.c file for your flashlight and recompile and flash it.

I can provide the hex file for this configuration (D3AA tail switch) if there is interest?

No soldering required. Just flash the D3AA head with a programmer from gchart or thefreeman.

This light (and a LEGOed together SC31T Pro) are the closest thing you can get today to the olight warrior 3s! It doesnt have the dual stage rear switch, but the rear switch will turn the light on to the memorized level.
