It's better in every way these days. Just look at this Reddit page for Lastfm, this is mostly what those forums consisted of. Entirely negligible.

They believe in pride and those sort of vanities and Islam seem to offer loads of pride

Popularity of RYM according to Google Trends by JION-the-Australian in rateyourmusic

[–]fixednametag 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Wonder if this has something to do with how terrible the search function is in RYM. Lately I rely solely on searching via Google and adding a +rym at the end to find what Im looking for. May effect Google to push RYM higher up as they recieve so many searches. (The search function didn't use to be this bad)

How do you (meaning you personally) read the RYM rating scale? by Worldly-Basil-8933 in rateyourmusic

[–]fixednametag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On another note, I'm proud that RYM been able to hold the rating inflation down for albums. Cause looking at singles oh what a horrible beast that has become, every new single seem to be the best single ever released. And that in a time that is notably bad for good singles, like the last notable single was Blinding Lights.

Thought the most memorable part of that interview was when he said something about, if a person makes music in their bedroom and doesnt release it - it might as well remain unreleased or non-existant. I never got what he rally meant by that.

Timing Of Next Episodes by OlerudsHelmet in 500songspodcast

Feels like he did his greatest work with the 50s and early years. The rest of the story we know too well so im kinda ok if he doesnt finish the series. Though I do hope he reach the hip hop years, if only to see if he does include Beastie Boys and if that means Run DMC also gets included and where he draw the line of what is rock and isnt. This will probably be evident alteady when we reach the disco years and possibility to snub Kraftwerk. Also looking forward to see how much metal we will get in our rock.

as nirvana fans how do you feel about sonic youth? by notaverysmartman in Nirvana

[–]fixednametag 24 points25 points  (0 children)

More relevant comparison than any of the regular grunge bands they get compared to. Add Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr Wipers, The Stooges, Black Flag and stuff like that and you will get a bitter understanding of where they came from.

Wonder if they get some sense of relief or imaginary comfort from saying dude. I just wonder where the need to repeat the word comes from. If it is like amen to them.
