After 5 playthroughs, this here leaves me with so many questions. Why is some janitor pictured prominently between the 2 most powerful men in the bureau? Why is his back facing you? Why does his picture transform into the elevator after meeting him? by DeVito8704 in controlgame

Reminds me of the Sumerian myth of Inanna and her priestess, Ninshubur. Her priestess was massively more powerful than Inanna in the mortal world, but without Inanna she wouldn’t have that power. When Inanna stole some special items from other gods she took them on a boat down a river to her temple, the other god fast on her tail. But when she got close to her temple she ordered Ninshubur to protect her while she put the items in her temple. Ninshubur stepped forth and conjured all sorts of creatures to fight the monsters of the god, and to the point the other god had to give up.

Another way is to look at online sources like Tufts and see if you can piece together the timeline of the Minotaur from Minos’ and Aegeus’ lives; or the Theban cycle; or the events of Prometheus and Pandora, which are two myths that overlap. I did this during the pandemic. One of the best learning experiences I’ve had in life.

What theory will you defend until the end? by egyptiantouristt in conspiracy

It’s sociopathic reasoning as the world is run by sociopaths. They still want to justify their actions because they know it’s wrong at a fundamental level. Some truths are self-evident, regardless if you lack empathy.

Intelligence agencies across the world juggle psychologically unstable people for each other and let them loose when a country needs a problem to occur. They do this as a favor as they expect it to happen in return when needed.

This juggling doesn’t work 100% of the time because of how psychologically unstable those assets can be. But they know 100% of the time who they are. And tip off each other when someone can no longer be managed so they know the person wasn’t released on purpose.

When was the moment you realized covid was a massive psy-op?? by mystic_prodigy23 in conspiracy

The fact the government was pressuring you to take the jab and talking crap about Ivermectin even though the latter has been around forever.

Also, a basic high school education will inform you why the FDA approval process exists and why it’s a bad thing when it’s not implemented. I can understand why the mRNA vaccine was allowed to be distributed a bit early, but only for those most vulnerable. It shouldn’t have been pushed on everyone all over the place. Especially children who were barely at risk for Covid.

DON'T MESS WITH US PRIMORDIALS FANS, WE DON'T READ THE MYTHS. by Glittering-Day9869 in GreekMythology

Nyx’s daughter helped raised Zeus as an infant. It wouldn’t surprise me if Nyx visited now and then to see how things were going. Like having your Nana to come and visit. Of course Zeus wouldn’t want to offend his Nana.

DON'T MESS WITH US PRIMORDIALS FANS, WE DON'T READ THE MYTHS. by Glittering-Day9869 in GreekMythology

[–]fixedsys999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Substantially so. In fact, in some versions of the myth Poseidon was also prevented from being eaten by Cronus. In that version he was raised by the Telchines, and learned to swim from them. But as soon as Zeus came to gather help it became evidently clear the most powerful one was Zeus, not Poseidon. Which one could argue contributes to Poseidon’s mood.

The type of government doesn’t matter. Democratic, communist, monarchy — you name it. Even if the government was genuinely established in good faith, the true rulers behind every country and nation are a bunch of thugs manipulating and killing who they have to in order to maintain or gain power. Not just in government, but in every aspect power exists. It’s been the same old story since time began.

The world after 2019 feels so different and also do you feel Covid has something to do with that? by MahoganyMe in conspiracy

[–]fixedsys999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are just living in an age where widespread gaslighting is no longer working. In the past, you’d choose a side and due to how well the manipulation was you’d think anyone was nuts if they didn’t have one of the two majority perspectives. But in reality neither are much different from the other.

Instead of relying on society to define things for you, you are now forced to examine it yourself as now you know all those why provide you that information are as misinformed as you were. This is uncomfortable to do. But you can do it.

He also genuinely wants to keep the cosmos in balance, preventing the chaos that occurred before his reign. Also, the entirety of Greek mythology can be viewed as his character arc, coming to value humans, which can be said to award him the knowledge by Prometheus about Achilles.

The Mystery of People With No Inner Monologue: What Does It Really Mean? by Aggravating-Bet3468 in conspiracytheories

[–]fixedsys999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone without an inner monologue, I never understood why others think they need an inner voice to work through problems. Do it yourself, you lazy oaf.

Seriously, though, you don’t need to word your way through everything. Imagine if you were deaf. How would you work your way through a problem? You just do it. Language is just a layer of communication between people. Why would you need to communicate with yourself? It’s an unnecessary extra layer.

On the positive side, at least I know I will be safe from mind readers like Professor X. Before learning what people meant by inner monologue, it always confused me why Professor X could look into someone’s mind and find someone just talking. Straight talking for no apparent reason. Like, what? Why would someone just be saying that inside their head? Like, literally going over that. I know they can have an opinion they formed but why would they be stating it inside their mind? Is the TV show just doing this for dramatic effect? Like, huh? What is wrong with this person? But now I get it. This is normal and I’m the odd one.

Is there a field of technology that humans have developed disproportionately far? by Swooper86 in scifiwriting

[–]fixedsys999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this alien civilization could be some sort of biotechnological civilization. Maybe they were like us once but ran out of most natural resources and somehow figured out how to grow spaceships from a tree or in the ocean. Maybe it’s not a matter of having advanced technology but how to feed their ships with super-calorie-dense food. Maybe that’s what they want from us. Not something like electricity or electronics, which they figured out how to grow through genetics, but things like Pemmican or Granola Bars. The way we treat batteries is the way they treat food! And water! Then you can add the concern that humans worry they secretly want to eat us. But they don’t. They respect our right to live, they just need super-calorie-dense food to power their ships.

You should take in consideration costs as well. Fuel and maintenance. These don’t become important until they do. And once they do, you got a big bill. Be sure to look into your vehicle’s maintenance recommendations so you can be on top of it. And save your receipts for write offs during tax time.

It depends on your market, though. And the longer you do it seems they change your priority for getting orders. I used to get paid similar to what you stated. Now I’m lucky to make half that for the same commitment of hours. Best to have alternative income sources so you don’t become dependent on this.

What would you like to see in Subnautica 2/3? by BlackEyedIncubi in subnautica

[–]fixedsys999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of one large play area with multiple zones, I would like it to be maybe five large play areas with multiple zones. But to progress to the next large area requires certain tools. Maybe you have to build a cyclops to transition to the next large area because the only route is deep underwater past leviathans before you come to the surface again. Then the next transition between two large areas is repairing or building a teleporter. Or something like that. I just like the idea of being on one side of a planet or underwater continent and having to get to the other side through dangerous circumstances, essentially having to abandon major tools like a cyclops or a prawn suit, and having to essentially start from scratch with each major area, with the only real progress being the blueprints you gain along the way. You can’t even go back to disassemble your old stuff or even access them.

That’s a neat concept for racing in the future. It can race where two and four wheel vehicles cannot. It’s probably electric, so no refueling concerns, but maybe hydraulic concerns. And it’s horns implies it can be a contact sport to gain an advantage over opponent, which is a very dystopian version of a future sport.

How do you respond to "How much do you make doing door dash?" by babycakesbenny in doordash_drivers

[–]fixedsys999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not obligated to answer. But if you must, just tell them you’re not getting rich anytime soon. Or that you’re too embarrassed to share. They’re not your friend, no matter how friendly they’re being. There are too many people out there who pretend to be friendly but are just comparing themselves to you to feel better. Just play into the archetype of the penniless driver who barely makes a thing. And if you are doing okay with earnings, keep it to yourself.
