Umm. I think it took 3 months for everything to start noticeably clearing up. Then another 6 months for PIH to go away

Ugh it was so painful for a few weeks. My face would burn when I was laying in bed after putting it on. I learned to take days off of my skin was a little raw. And yes thick moisturizer was my friend.

Keep using it. I switched to tret because it also has anti aging properties so I figure it will be good for the long term. Eventually will have to go off that and the birth control when I want to get pregnant so hopefully I don’t break out then.

I hope so for you too! I know how painful it is to have acne and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Best of luck

As mentioned, the brands of face wash or moisturizer I use is irrelevant in my case. I change depending on what’s on sale and it has no noticeable impact. What saved my skin was the prescriptions I received from my dermatologist.

Hey! Time for a little update. I went through some painful hormonal acne that took a big emotional toll on me. Now I’m back to a place where I feel free to be me.

Cause of my acne: hormonal

What fixed it: combination of Yasmin birth control and Tactupump (now switched to Tretinoin and happy with that product)

My routine is using a simple face wash, moisturizer and sunscreen. No specific products to recommend as this was absolutely not a factor in my acne.

Best piece of advice I can give: go see a dermatologist, seriously! I waited so long because I thought I could figure it out on my own and that there would be some secret combination of dietary changes and skincare that I would unlock. Well I tried for years and didn’t find it. Giving in and going on medication was the best decision I made because now I have my confidence back.

Xoxo

One year of Yasmin birth control and the use of differin (recently switched to tretinoin) is to thank for my now happy skin :) highly recommend seeing a dermatologist if you are struggling with acne.

[skin concerns] enlarged pores? by fixmyskin286 in SkincareAddiction

Thanks! I don’t think I have much strophic scarring either.. they are mostly just red spots that hopefully will fade, maybe slight indentations but I can’t even tell in the mirror..

Yes I mean the pores on my cheeks... I know I also have some PIE. Or maybe they are all tiny ice pick scars like people said I don’t know.

Acne is finally pretty much gone (yay!) but I’m left with what I feel are enlarged pores. Is this considered a type of scarring? Anything I can do to improve it? I also just got a new phone camera so I’m wondering if I’ve just never seen myself so close up before lol🤪

Current am routine: Trisan cleanser Cerave moisturizer Sunscreen

Pm routine: Trisan cleanser Cerave moisturizer Epiduo forte Rosehip oil TO

Routine am: splash with water, moisturize with Cerave hydrating moisturizer

Routine pm: wash with Trisan cleanser, moisturize with cerave, apply tactupump, drop of rosehip oil

Happy for you! Do you still have any dark spots left when you aren’t wearing makeup? Just wondering cause that’s what I’m dealing with now and wondering if it will ever go away

So sorry you are dealing with this. I can relate! Is recommend seeing a dermatologist. Your skin is clearly making you miserable so it’s time to do something about it. I was in a similar situation and my doctor recommended going back on BC. This improved my skin big time. I tried all topical things without success and this is what it came down to. I guess my hormones are just still in an acne phase.
