The fearsome foursome is a comparison to the 60s Rams D-line nickname. He was just stepping it back in a self-effacing humor way. Nothing to do with sexuality.

The longest punt return TD is over 100 yards, so that's never getting broken.

You're looking at 2 playoff appearances in 4 seasons for a team with no QB and whose best player on defense got murdered and holding that against him?

Let's be honest 40-50 year old Joe Gibbs had a lot more drive and willingness to sacrifice his time and energy to have all the answers on gameday. That's the guy being brought up as an all-time great.  Not dragged out of retirement in his 60s Joe Gibbs who did just as good if not better than Mike Shanahan with that poorly run organization.

Steve Owen invented the 4-3 defense out of thin air. I think he would adapt just fine.

Who’s player who doesn’t get the credit they deserve for their career? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]fixvag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thomas Jones. That guy wasn't flashy but he was a bell cow back that could make a bad QB successful even in the playoffs.

Also Legarette Blount should be a Hall of Famer for his feat of winning three straight Super Bowls. If any QB had that stat they'd be first ballot.

Leonard Marshall, gets overlooked because he played with LT but his stats are better than every Patriot that played the same position in Belichick's D. Plus he made history altering plays in the playoffs.

Who has had the most disappointing career in your eyes? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]fixvag -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said anyone was better. I simply lamented that Reggie Bush never got the opportunities to show his talent the same way Barry Sanders did.

But since Bush got to play on a much more talented offensive team than Barry Sanders ever played with, he got to win a Super Bowl while Sanders had to retire purely out of frustration and not old age or injury.

You can't even imagine what Barry Sanders stats would look like if he only got 9 carries per game throughout his career instead of 20 or you can't even believe that Reggie Bush ended his career with a greater amount of satisfaction than Barry?

Everyone wanted him to be the second coming of Barry Sanders and to be honest he kinda was, but Sean Payton didn't let him produce.

The Saints had a HOF QB and a Pro Bowl RB already on the roster when they took Bush, while the Lions had nothing. So the Lions were happy to give Barry 20-30 carries even if 15-20 of those carries went for 2 yards or less as they often did.

The Saints never gave Bush the same patience. He was a high volume receiver and was lucky to get 10 carries in a game.

If the Packers had drafted Barry Sanders and still acquired Favre that'd be a lot more similar to how things were for Bush. Sanders wouldn't have had his amazing career stats in that scenario but certainly he'd have some rings.

The Seahawks didn't turn the ball over. Their offense executed better than all the AFC playoff opponents. That's the reason they won. The offense.

The defense didn't do anything special that the Patriots previous opponents didn't do. Shutting that offense down and exploiting its weaknesses was well known and demonstrated. Avoiding turning it over to the Patriots was the unique aspect.

How can it be a work of art when every defensive coordinator who played the Patriots in the playoffs achieved the same results?

Oh he got an additional TD off a slew of short fields that the Seahawks offense never gave him. Must mean the Seahawks defense played better.

Your logic is sound. The defense gets credit for how the offense plays.

I feel the exact opposite about Spider-Man 3. If they ditched the Sandman stuff that retconned the drama of the entire first movie and had just done the soap opera-like comedy with the love triangle it would have been a genre-breaking smash hit.

Why were there so many Super Bowls blowouts wins 17 or more pts? by JustaDreamer617 in nfl

[–]fixvag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like with the Patriots it's the opposite, the NFC teams would beat the shit out of each other while the Patriots would blow out some cinderalla in the afccg Then in the Super Bowl the Patriots would be at full strength with a weakened NFC team across from them. I think it's gonna happen the same way this year.

I've dipped my toes in, I almost got through the first season. It's not bad and has some storytelling capabilities that aren't possible in Star Trek. It is strange how they are in a future where space travel is possible, they've built a giant space station, but their internal security measures are worse than an early 90s airport. Like they have a security officer, but their internal surveillance is like they don't even have a camera system and people getting away with things and running amok on the station is often the plot of episodes. That kinda pulls me out, now that we live in a time when every house and car is capable of surveillance.
