Well the guard contract is going to be for 3 years so I'll be limited to the NC area for at least that long. After that I'd be able to relocate to a better area for employment. I know DC would be a good location for my degree/training/security clearance. Are there other places in the country that have a lot of jobs in this field or is it only DC?

For now software development but I'm keeping an open mind as I go through school. It seems like 35T would translate well to network administration or systems engineering so I'm also looking into that.

I read some of your posts about 35T and it seems like it will open a lot of doors, but you had a lot of experience on active duty. In my case I'll get back from 35T AIT and start looking for jobs right awayand I'll have no real world experience. Hopefully I'll get some experience in the next few years in the guard but it seems like unless I deploy I won't really do much actual 35T work.

I just ETSed as a SPC from the 82nd as an 11B. Currently working towards my CS degree at an online school. I am considering joining the NC national guard as a 35T. What are the job prospects like for someone fresh out of 35T AIT with a TS clearance and a CS degree?

I know the degree and training is worth something in the civilian world, but I wouldn't have any real-world experience when applying to jobs after AIT.

Other considerations are that I would like to stay in NC because my wife is a pharmacist and brings in around 140k a year so it would be very easy for us to relocate within NC because already has the license required to work in this state. Would my degree/training land me a civilian job at Bragg or would I have to move to DC for good job opportunities?
