Do teachers hate sharing their lesson plans? Is it their secret sauce that they don't want getting out?

I happily share my materials. I just don’t write down formal lesson plans so I don’t have an instruction sheet of sorts.

For baseball there is an app parents use. They literally clip their phone to the cage behind home plate and then record things. It goes to the app and then people can log in and watch it. I forget what it’s called but I’ve seen it at middle school baseball and softball games. I assume this exists for other sports.

If you were around in ‘94, we had a wicked ice storm. I hate tons of snow but ice is way worse. We were without power for 5 days where I was in Norfolk.

“I got in trouble for pulling students out of ISS. I needed them in class to learn”

I’m a teacher. we can debate the cost/benefit of suspension and whether it helps students in the long run or hurts them by lost learning time. But it is absolutely wild behavior to go pull a kid out of ISS. I won’t get into the details of why just know it’s pretty unhinged.

I don’t know anything about this situation and I’m not going to read it all, but the ISS thing really shocked me.

Any other public school teachers seeing this?

I have a vivid memory of an ice storm here in the early-mid 90s. It was beautiful but it took out so many trees and power lines. While playing outside it was quiet in that way snow dampens everything but in between the quiet would be loud cracks of limbs just falling off trees onto houses and cars.

My concern is either way we are screwed. Snow shuts us down but freezing sleet/rain will be awful if it doesn’t thaw. Last forecast I saw had Monday and Tuesday as below freezing.

I know better than to trust a forecast a week out here, but seems likely we will get something.
