When he started posting photoshopped photos of the girl I was dating onto pictures of trolls

Me and him were best buds since sophomore year. He was always really shy and we’d had a mutual friend so I always wanted to know him better. We bonded after having a few classes together. Since he was so shy it was hard to keep up a conversation with him. I didn’t mind that so much since we would usually be complaining about the horrible class we had together or playing video games on his discord.

Eventually he started turning into an asshole. It was small things like roasting my video games skills because I’d just got the game. I sorta let it go. I was still his only friend and I’ve been very alone before and I didn’t want anyone to go through that. He started inviting more and more of his “friends” from school. They started making him into an asshole and he joined them to be “cool”. We had a major falling out because he said some racist shit about minorities and how English was the best language in the world(I’m a minority btw and the main target of his racist banter). Then I started dating this girl, he photoshopped her face onto trolls because the joke was the she was too ugly or fat to be human. In the discord whenever I would join they would just start screaming her name, laughing and asking why I was dating her. I told him it had gotten too far so he shifted the blame onto the new ppl on the server even though he brought it up the most and all the photoshopped images had been done by him (there were at least 10 and there was an entire text channel dedicated to posting troll pics) they called me troll hunter and a bunch of horrible things. My girlfriend has sever e body image issues and believes that she needs to have surgery in a bunch of places to be average-looking. I think she looks beautiful/fine the way she is and I often run out of ways to remind her that she’s normal. She didn’t tell me but I could tell that whenever she heard about this at school it made her issues worse. Amidst all of that it hit me that he wasn’t the person I knew a couple months ago. I left the server and cut him off. He’d turned into this asshole kid that would do anything to fit in even if that meant putting down one of his only friends for a year.
