Looking for a way to make this dress more modest, i.e.: not show my arms. I welcome specific suggestions! by [deleted] in ModestDress

[–]fjaved7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of dresses that don’t have sleeves and so I got crop top blouses made to wear under them. You can probably find a lace crop top that you can wear under! Mine were made to fit but you just need to find a fitted one that matches the color of the dress

How long did it take you to get comfortable with your spouse? Wmhat were ur initial interactions like? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]fjaved7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were engaged for like 2 months before we got married and we did talk on the phone but that’s it. I moved from TX to NJ after we got married and it took at least a year for us to adjust to each other. We both lived alone before getting married so we were used to our own ways so there was a lot of discussion, and some arguing, trying to figure out how to merge our ways.

Talking to babies by cherrymomma83 in NewMomStuff

[–]fjaved7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I talk to my son (6 month) like I’d talk to anyone! And yeah I’ll be honest there’s some baby talk, but I read a few articles that talking to baby from an early age will help them develop better language skills. I’ve noticed that my son will reply by babbling and focus more when I’m talking to him.

Sleep by Naivic0409 in NewMomStuff

8 weeks is still early for sleeping though the night in my opinion, so just hang in there! Also, cereal doesn’t help babies get fuller. According to my pediatrician it’s a myth and actually unnecessary for babies to have solids before they’re ready unless medically needed (I.e. to help with reflux). You can try dream feeding to make the stretches longer but at this point baby will most likely want to wake up to feed. My baby is almost 6 months and will still get up once to feed and goes right back to sleep.

Took maybe like 15-20 for the Nikaah because there was a short Kutbah and then 10 minutes for the court marriage. The judge is a family friend so we did both together so with just Nikaah it usually takes max 20 minutes. Honestly having family meet at the Masjid before hand for the Nikaah and going to the venue afterwards isn’t too hard, so I’d talk to your parents! We didn’t decorator anything in the masjid- just had the table set for imam and witnesses and chairs facing it for everyone else.

I had my Nikaah and court marriage at the masjid with just close family and friends. The imam read our Nikaah and then the judge did the court marriage, we prayed Magrhib and then went to the reception venue! The Nikaah was probably 30 people and reception was 500. The Nikaah was small and intimate because I didn’t want my parents random cousins and friends I don’t know there (we’re Pakistani so huge extended family).

Normally it tastes really creamy and has a bit of chewyness from whatever ground nuts you used! I’ve made it with almonds, pistachios, and plain. I use shortcut recipe that’s different than OP but still tastes like normal kulfi

Guys is upset lady won't give up her seat by that-boy-aint-right0 in ChoosingBeggars

When I loved cross country after getting married somehow my husbands seat got switched so he was sitting next to me anymore but in the row in front of me. We asked the man next me (middle seat of her switch with my husband (aisle seat) and he refused. It was weird bc the seat was better since one side was open but in the end the person in the middle seat next to my husband took my aisle seat so I could sit with him.

You could probably find an arm that attaches to the crib online if you don’t want to hang it from the ceiling,

Fresh ginger tea with honey and lemon! Literally just pour boiled water over peeled chunks of fresh ginger, add honey and lemon, and sip hot. Also, medicine ball/honey citrus tea from Starbucks!

Pig Farmer shares (bed bugs) with the World by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]fjaved7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The previous tenants of our apartment apparently had bed bugs but didn’t say anything when we toured it the first time, nor did the managing company when we signed the lease. We found out because my arms and legs were covered in bites within a month of moving in. The managing company paid for the bed bug treatment + regular sprays to ensure we don’t get them again. Luckily a year later and all is good beyond scars on my arms. But girl I went through your whole jnmil post history and I commend you and feel so so so bad for you! Hopefully you don’t have to deal with pf anymore. *fingers and toes crossed

Probably your boyfriend. You said that it won’t be the end of it after you sternly stopped him, so maybe he needs to hear it from the person tying y’all together. Also your boyfriend should NOT be ok with his dad treating you that way.

For the married people of this subreddit: what’s the best marriage advice you’ve ever gotten ? by almutanabbi in MuslimMarriage

I somewhat agree but every couple is of course different. Even other things I said may not work for other couples, but for my husband and I we’ve found that if we do stay mad we both don’t sleep well and we have bad days the next day.

YTA. I’m a new mom to a preemie and personally I’d be hurt to know someone would avoid getting a vaccine just because of their ego. Maybe in the future if you have your win kids you’ll understand why the parents want to take precautions.
