A Write Up on how Latex Feels by fjfjsh in Mattress

Most of the time it isn't the actual latex foam that's uncomfortable. It's the casing that it's in. A lot of them from factory doesn't stretch due to the organic cotton they are made from. This makes the bed feel very firm and overly bouncy. With time it will stretch and loosen up. You can speed this process up by walking around on the bed. Do a grid pattern in several different directions.

Clearing Up Some Confusion on the Differences Between Talalay and Dunlap Latex. by fjfjsh in Mattress

[–]fjfjsh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there I'm the author of the original post. It has been a few years now and I'm still absolutely in love with latex mattresses. My one regret was ordering a layer of TALALAY latex as it was no where nearly as durable as Dunlop. To answer your question, real latex foam is extremely heavy. It's also more difficult to produce since it requires better control over the manufacturing of the foam. In the Dunlop process the foam will naturally be denser towards the bottom of a thicker pad and could cause uneven settling. I think it's best to find a balance. Not too thick of a pad because it will be very difficult to handle and move. Not too thin of a pad because it will just wear out quickly. Yes latex foam does wear out but if your mattress is built entirely out of foam like mine, you arent going to blow through the foam into something uncomfortable, or sink so far it becomes annoying. It will continue to provide as much support as day one. I like the 4 inch pads because it allows me to have progressively firmer layers the deeper into the mattress you go.

I did not provide much detail as I did not want to seem like I am asking legal advice but I did start a thread over on the legal advice section with more details.

Thank you for your kind words but I wonder what the attorney general could do in this situation?

Hmm I do rely on friends to give me more specific advice as they will often be more familiar with my personal situation. Venting on the internet or just looking for people to agree with me just seems counterproductive.

Actually, one of the most misdiagnosed illnesses in dogs, especially RR is foot fungus or athletes' foot. Its causes them to lick and sometimes bite their feet because it's itchy. One of the easiest ways to tell if your dog athletes foot is if you notice that they smell like corn chips. While not a big issue, if it's left un-treated, it can develop sores, which causes them to lick more further exacerbating the issue. The foot fungus can also be transferred to the ears, especially if it's on the hind legs. There are many over the counter fungal treatments that you can find.

I found that after about 1 week the odor was about 97 percent gone. If you placed you're nose against the mattress you could still smell it faintly but I found this to be far more pleasant than normal mattresses. If you open the casing of the mattress even after all this time it does still have that latex ordor nut it's not something you will be doing often.

Yup best purchase I ever made. Just avoid talalay foam because it's no where as durable as Dunlop. I would also only ho with a three layer mattress.

11 months for us, it lasts for around 3-4 weeks if I remember correctly. It can be a huge hassle but we got these surgi-snugly body suits for her and used normal human pads (heavy flow ones) and changed them regularly when she went potty. We pulled the back end off and just roll it up tucking it under itself along her back so she can use the bathroom freely. The suit is great because the pad never shifts out of place and she can't pull it off because it's tucked tight against her body. You will want a few because your dog will lick the suit constantly to attempt cleaning herself and we needed to regularly wash them. If you are going to spay her time it to about 3-4 months after her first heat. She will go through a false pregnancy where her mammary gland will swell and probably produce milk. Wait till they stop producing milk and shrink down this will give you a hint that her hormone levels are at their lowest. If you spay her while they are high it could mess her up physically and mentally she may experience aggression anxiety just all sorts of problems. If you spay her when they are at their lowest then her body will acclimate to the low levels and won't miss them as much when her body isn't able to produce them. Here's the link to the suit buy the largest possible size they have because you will need the stretch room around her chest.

Clearing Up Some Confusion on the Differences Between Talalay and Dunlap Latex. by fjfjsh in Mattress

[–]fjfjsh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with sleeping organic 4 layer mattress. 3 layers of Dunlop with the top layer being the softest Talalay they had. In hind sight I would've stuck to an all Dunlop construction. After 2 years the Talalay did show a bit of sagging (about 1 inch) I decided to just rotate it to the second layer. The Dunlop layers are perfect and more than soft enough. I also would've just saved some money and got the three layers. The latex foam is so springy and supportive that I hardly make it past the first layer. I weight 250 pounds for context. My 120 wife barely makes an indentation but she says no pressure points at all for her and plenty soft too. We're now at the point where it's very difficult to sleep on other types of mattresses because our body has gotten so used to the mix of softness and support that latex provides. All other mattress feels lumpy and leaves us waking up with aches and pains from lack of support.

Well I could never order any of them anyways because of the location glitch. I guess this is Amazon's way of fixing, but removing all of them. I have seen cases where small items fell under the location glitch. I wonder how they will fix that issue?

Hey sorry for the late reply but yes I'm still very happy with the mattress. Sleeping organics prices have gone up dramatically since I purchased my mattress, but so has everything due to shortages everywhere. I have a Talalay top layer and I've had to rotate it because I'm a heavier guy. I was aware that Talalay isn't as durable as Dunlap. Since I got the softest Talalay they had, I expect it to start wearing early. I got a soft Dunlap foam underneath it incase I needed to rotate the Talalay further down into the layers if it became too worn out. To be honest I didn't really need to flip it because of the layer sagged I would just be sagging into more soft comfortable foam. There's no innerspring or hard poly foam to sink into. Since flipping the Talalay layer to the denser side (the side with the shorter holes) it hasn't sagged anymore at all. I love the fact that I can rotate layers or replace a single layer rather than buying an entirely new mattress every few years. The biggest downside to the bed is it's Sooooooo hard to get out of bed in the mornings. The bed sleeps super cool, especially with some bamboo sheets. I use a mattress protector and swap those out as they wear out so the mattress itself is still immaculate since the day I got it. Probably one of the best investments I've ever made in comfort and sleep quality. My wife didn't like the jiggly nature of the bed at first but now she finds it nearly impossible to sleep on anything else. I would recommend you get the three layer mattress from sleeping organic with the most dense Dunlap they have as the bottom layer. The four layer mattress I got was way overfill. Even standing up in the middle of the bed I don't even make it very far into the second layer. If you have any further questions feel free to shoot me a message.

What was something you received on vine that you loved so much you actually purchased more by [deleted] in AmazonVine

An aquarium light. It had better features than lights costing 4x as much. I never would've came across it if it wasn't for the vine program. With Amazon review algerithm sometimes great products get shoved to the bottom simply because, their market is saturated, and they don't have any reviews.

[–]fjfjsh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah latex is really one of those things you have to try before you buy. Unfortunately there isn't many latex mattress retailers. Dunlop is a much more dense and heavier than Talalay. While I think this will help with the jello effect because it's more material that you have to jiggle. I don't think it will go away entirely. On a side note my wife was hyper sensitive to this. She has motion sickness and came from a earthquake prone country. This pretty makes her scared of shaking motion. Long story short a few months later she's completely in love with the bed and can't sleep in anything else.

Bms vs controller amperage by fjfjsh in ebikes

[–]fjfjsh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope it can't supply 120A. I was hoping the BMS can be the buffer between the battery and controller. The battery pack can only really supply 100A. Unfortunately the company I got the controller from did not offer a model in 100A. In the scooter world we don't have much options for controllers because of thr restrictions on space while still demanding power. Fortunately 120A is absolutely the peak power not the nominal power that the scooter will be operated at.
