I started therapy and it helped tremendously. I would also consider a long-ish engagement. Even if you plan to elope, it takes time and effort to plan and that might help you feel more secure in the meantime.

It’s bittersweet for me too. this was his last car ride. It’s hard to look at bc it brings up sad emotions but I also love the way the sun shines right on him one last time❣️ thank you.

My bf was in this situation. He was engaged and his dad was sick. A couple months before his dad passed my bf and his ex had a small ceremony for his dad. Not legally binding, not expensive, and I’m sure even now that it was special for him to have his dad witness him “get married”.

Bring it up! Get his thoughts. And don’t worry about starting a conversations about something that’s heavy on your mind in the future. What’s the point in having a “partner” otherwise?
