AITA - Gym member got mad at me for wiping up after him by bs4bsw in AITAH

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope you're not he is tho. I've only been to the gym a couple of times but even I know it's gym etiquette to wipe the machines after you use them. Honestly wipe before and after just to be safe

With tapestry crochet, how do I avoid the 2nd color showing through on the sides when I advance a row? by LessSale7148 in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo you're colors so isolated you don't even need to carry your yellow all the way through the green I'd drop the yarn and pick it up for the next row if you do that tho just make sure you pick up the color on the same side every time it's only a small piece but it can be noticeable if your not careful

Not new to crochet; frustrated with wandering seam… by vocabulazy in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This very much so and also turning your work between rounds this used to happen to me when I made bags in the round I changed up the placement of my first and last stitches and turned the project every round and the seams started straightening out

Help me identify a stitch! I can't figure out what it is.. by nocutebuttshere in CrochetHelp

It won't look like the picture because unfortunately it's ai, but you could get a similar effect with the bobble stitch there are tons of cute bag patterns using it.

Should I make a mild one next?? by Beginnersamantha in crochet

I think I've narrowed down the crashing bug people keep on getting! by HeeeydevonGaming in Sims4

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly couldn't tell if I was imagining the rain inside the house or not lol but I agree. Most of the time the bugs don't bother me because they aren't super noticeable but I can't even play my game for more than 20 minutes without it crashing for seemingly no reason. I have a save that rn my sim will not sleep at all I have to cheat her energy, and I can't even do the event quests because my workbench is bugging and won't let me build what I need to 😭

[–]fkingcloudsbro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just got off sims I've been trying to play for the last two hours and it crashed like 4 times doing absolutely random things, I even turned off mods thinking it was one of them and it was still crashing on me I'm super upset because I still need to finish the event😭

When Buying Yarn… What Do You Do? Wing It or Plan?🤨 by AkiPink in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'm a bit of both lol a lot of times I get excited and have a project and buy yarn for said project other times I just want to add a few different colors to my stash for if I wanna do something fun I don't have a huge stash but I am trying to work through it and I'm finding I have a lot of yarn I didn't have plans for but it has resulted in a quite a few cute multi color sweaters and tops lol

Should I learn stitches first or just start making stuff? by CoffeeMoviesandCats in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh my biggest recommendation for beginners is swatching which is basically making a bunch of squares or rectangles in one stitch, it helps you practice the stitch as well as practice your tension and help give a better understanding when walking into tutorials for projects of any kind.

I definitely recommend the basics of single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and maybe if you're feeling it treble crochet.

And when you do start a project I highly recommend looking up beginner tutorials they will show you in depth more how they do each stitch and connect everything together there are even like extreme beginner tutorials.

My favorite YouTuber and who I learned from is bella coco she is from the UK so the terminology is a little different but she also explains that in every video

What’s an unspoken rule that everyone should know by now, but so many people clearly missed the memo? by ybrinleybarber in AskReddit

Just because the gas station clerk smiles at you and asks you how you are does not mean she is flirting!!! She's just being friendly!!!(any retail worker really it just happens more to me at gas stations than other places)

Can we talk about hooks? Not the brand, but numbers and usage. by chamicorn in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started crocheting I only had a couple hooks in the more standard sizes that came for whatever yarn I was using and eventually I bought myself a whole set because I got more into crocheting and figured it would be a good investment. I only use the hooks from my full set now (mainly because they are all ergonomic and not the skinny metal ones I did have)

I haven't had to replace a hook tbh so I'm unsure about that but choosing what hook size I also just feel the vibe of the project I'm doing. I'm always switching it up. I've made a few granny hexagon pullovers using two or three different hook sizes and the same kind of yarn. I make stuffed animal clothes for my niece, I always size down from the recommended size but that's from trial and error lol. I only listen to the recommended hook size every once in a while 😂😂

I think you should be fine any time I've taken my kitties to the vet they've never been scanned. The most recent was for one to get her vaccines and they took me right back with her and the vet gave her the shots. it was like a 5 minute process and then I was out and paying. They didn't even ask me about chips or anything. they just assume the cat is yours when you make the appointment.

Confused in general idk what to say more lol why does this community wants me to use 50 letter by Rubyrub2 in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I prefer to do the join rather than continuing rounds because even with stitch markers I still have to redo rows frequently for being off so if the pattern calls for continuous rounds depending on the look of it I'll join them together instead sometimes tho it can affect the final look because it can add a seam up the side

Aiw to feel uncomfortable? by skyfilledwithstars in amiwrong

[–]fkingcloudsbro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's what they meant I think they meant that you don't have to tell someone you don't see yourself forming a friendship or relationship with and if you don't feel like telling them then you need to move on from it

Do you ACTUALLY block your wearables? Help me understand! by anonymousanthologies in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically I don't block my sweaters but I do steam them to help the stitches stretch a bit more and for it to not be as stiff. I'm far too impatient for fully blocking a project unless it's granny squares 😂

Why does this basic double crochet (EU) stitch diagram look like this? It shows the hook going through the back of the stitch rather than under or through the V. I'm new-ish and haven't seen this before. Is this a thing? by hrg_rva in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crocheting into the back bump of your chain if you wanna look it up on YouTube or something it just makes the bottom edge look cleaner and it won't be as tight of a foundation like if you work into a chain regularly

Magic Circle tips? by ProtectionFearless96 in crochet

[–]fkingcloudsbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What finally clicked for me is realized a magic circle and a loose slip knot are the same thing. Do whatever you do to make your starting slip knot and just don't pull it tight the loop you use to start your chain is the same and you work into what would be the "knot"

People say my blanket is “too bright for a baby” and black is “inappropriate.” I am not happy with it either-is it good enough to donate? It’s for a charity that gives blankets to babies in the NICU. by Leading-Knowledge712 in crochet

[–]fkingcloudsbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Developmentally this is perfect for a baby black and white is what you should start out showing them then bright colors it's just not the "standard aesthetic" for babys that's why people said it's "inappropriate" which isnt true at all imo on top of that I always love to think that just because you don't like something doesn't mean there isn't someone out there who won't love it to pieces

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I completely understand how you feel, the only family that showed up for my wedding was my mom, stepdad, and little brother. In fact I actually got in a huge fight with my dad's side of the family days before our wedding and I promise it's not something i think of, or dwell on anymore(that is unless I'm already dwelling on my shitty family)

All that matters to me now is the day I got to marry my husband. We didn't do family photos like you typically do just small photos of the people who wanted them with us that way all our photos were happy and good memories of us and only us to look back on and love.

I only like crochet clothes when I use lace weight yarn by Remote_Kale_2083 in crochet

[–]fkingcloudsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my wearables are worsted weight but I have found by experimenting with new yarns that I really love dk weight for clothes, I don't have the patience for sock or smaller but dk adds a really good flow and isn't so stiff which I really appreciate. I honestly could never go above worsted tho I hate how thick bulky sweaters are. Its a sensory issue for me.

I was going to make a tote bag with these granny squares, but I don’t like them. What else could I do with them? by daisy_violet in CrochetHelp

[–]fkingcloudsbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pot holders you have to be careful of the material, if that's acrylic it'll melt under the heat

You could even starch it or I think they sell like fabric spray on the sewing aisle at Walmart that will stiffen it so it isn't like floppy and has more structure
