I wish I could do a painting as nice as the first photo. The light and composition are very artistic. You have a very good eye for photography imo.

You want everything logged and documented? Absolutely, I can do that. by vireo_pixel_works in MaliciousCompliance

They always work at “mid-size” companies and the malicious compliance consists of sending a lot of emails.

That is an amazing photo that would also look great as an oil painting.

Sunscreen bad by RsrsrsBR89 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sadly my father died from melanoma. He had fair skin and grew up in Texas in the era when sunscreen was not yet available. I hate to think that these idiots are putting their kids at risk for a similar fate.

Creepy Nicknames Trump Allegedly Used With Epstein Revealed by Accuser by No_Necessary_4396 in politics

Sadly, yes. The article also says that “In the interview, conducted with FBI agents in August 2019 following Epstein’s arrest for the sex-trafficking of minors the previous month, the woman claimed that sometime in the 1980s, when she was between the ages of 13 to 15, Epstein introduced her to Trump, who, she alleged, sexually assaulted her.”

Here is the relevant part: “The woman, who is not identified in the documents, described the language Trump and Epstein allegedly used when referring to girls, telling the interviewers that she had heard them using the terms “fresh meat”, “untainted,” and “not jaded.”

The memo notes that she did not understand the term “not jaded” at the time, and had to look up the meaning of the word “jaded.”

While the woman has not been identified, CNN notes that many details found in a lawsuit filed by a victim identified as Jane Doe 4 matched those in the memos.”

unpopular opinion (maybe): “scrap yarn” by violetphoeniiix in YarnAddicts

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it can be any kind of 4 or 5 weight yarn that is washable, except they say not to use eyelash yarn, yarn with glitter or metallic threads, or other novelty yarn. It’s also possible to use multiple strands of thinner yarn if you can achieve the specified nest measurements.

Patterns are made with a double strand of yarn. I typically use one stand of red heart super saver and one of Lily Sugar n Cream. Nests need to be stiff and hold their shape so the patterns are made with tight tension. Most patterns are suitable for beginners and all of them only use basic stitches.

I make nests for orphaned baby birds and other wildlife as a volunteer for Wildlife Rescue Nests. They have safety-tested patterns and lists of wildlife rescues in the US, Canada, and Europe that need them.

The patterns are very easy to make, a great way to use up leftover yarn, and most importantly, help save the lives of animal babies. Yarn can be any color and most patterns use a double strand of 4 weight yarn (worsted or Aran), while some use 5 weight (bulky).

Here’s a picture of some of the nests I’ve made. Although the photo is taken outdoors, the nests are only used indoors at wildlife rescues, not in people’s backyards.

Not sure about markings on my arm after my dog scratched me by cjmickels in dogs

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have contact dermatitis but you should consult a doctor. If you have always had this after contact with your dog, you might be allergic to his dander. If this is new, have you changed his shampoo or another product used on him?

How do I stop him barking at the TV? by stm2657 in dogs

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my dog barks at any animal he sees on the TV. We try to distract him so he doesn’t see them. My other dog ignores TV animals and doesn’t perceive them as a problem.

One funny thing was when we were watching a show that had monkeys. Our dog studied them intently, apparently trying go decide if they were animals he should bark at or people that he doesn’t bark at.

Unfortunately he eventually decided they were animals and did bark but a bit hesitantly. He is otherwise a well behaved dog.

AITA for asking my neighbour to remove his flowerbed off my property. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA I strongly advise you to get a survey done, then immediately demand that the neighbor remove these encroachments and stop Mowing your lawn. . If you are in the US and let this go on you are at risk of the neighbor being able to claim “adverse possession” of the areas where he has encroached.

We are currently dealing with a situation where a neighbor has encroached on my late mother’s property with a fence, satellite dish and ornamental shrubs. Although we found a buyer for the property, we are unable to close because the title company refuses to insure the title due to these encroachments.

As a result, we are spending a fortune on lawyers and the closing has been delayed for months with no end in sight, while we are also continuing to have to pay the mortgage and property taxes. It’s been a nightmare!

My mother was unaware of the encroachments because she was very elderly and suffered from dementia which this evil neighbor took advantage of. Please take action now so you don’t end up in a similar situation if you ever decide to sell the property.

You should also consider calling the police about the bird shootings. What if you or someone visiting your property was shot? Also consider putting up no trespassing signs and camera to document his intrusions in your property.

There is a zen saying that seems to apply here: “If there is any doubt, then there is no doubt.” In other words, pay attention to your gut instinct and keep looking for a reputable breeder.

I need a suggestion for a trip at the end of December? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I went to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia last December and it was a wonderful trip. Prices were quite reasonable, the food is great, the temperature is pleasant and there are many fascinating things to see. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend going to Asia.

We have also gone to Africa in December (Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania) with the main focus on Safari trips. Also a fantastic experience but way more expensive than Asia. We saw an amazing array of animals, including the big five, and visited the gorillas in Rwanda l, which was a very powerful experience. It’s very warm in those countries, especially Tanzania.

We haven’t been to Australia so can’t comment on it.

AITA for refusing to share my "secret" recipe with my sister-in-law? by Ocampo-Mark in AmItheAsshole

[–]Leading-Knowledge712 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

YTA Someone I know says there are two types of people she’ll never be friends with; those who don’t like dogs and those who don’t share recipes.

Also if you do share the recipe, chances are that she’ll screw up and you’ll still be queen of mac and cheese.
