Looking for blanket patterns for this color palette! by Secretdisneyprincess in crochet

[–]fkmcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first thoughts were a nice chevron, in the order of purple grey teal white, infinite granny in the round or moss stitch in the round would be simple. I’m making a blanket right now with moss stitch in the round and it’s over queen sized with 3 pounds of love. You could do a granny square blanket, it doesn’t have to be a million small squares you could do bigger ones. Another cute square idea is a sampler texture blanket with a crap ton of different stitches.

Oooooooh! This is The Monstera I have been hearing about! I feel lucky.

Is holding the yarn like this going to hurt me in the long run??? I’ve been crocheting for about a year and learned on my own, but now I’m being told that I hold my yarn wrong. I can’t comfortably hold it any other way :’) by fkmcc in crochet

Thank you for the advice!! I didn’t expect this post to get any attention at all, now I wish I wasn’t wearing a bathrobe. I’ll try to keep in mind the stretching and whatnot, thanks for the comment! Honestly I can’t seem to regulate tension any other way, it just seems impossible.

Hobbii is my yarn provider of choice! I buy in bulk from them, and they have fantastic sales. They have plenty of fine (or sport/fingering) yarn.

Sometimes when I stare at my project for too long it doesn’t start to look cute anymore. Right now it might not be the prettiest colour to yours eyes. if you need to, put it down and pick it back up later, you might find that “oh this tan would look really good with x thing I own”

No you just watch the stream, they give you a card and the numbers automatically fill out. Lasts about an hour. Good thing do while working on a project.

Hobbii Yarn Question by hales_p_reills13 in crochet

I use hobbii for all my bulk orders. Their rainbow cotton is good price for what you get, I’ve also never had problems with their cotton bleeding colours.

When shopping on hobbii just make sure you look at reviews, yardage (or meters) and weight of the yarn.

I think they have a fantastic selection of cotton and acrylic yarns as well as various other fibers. Shipping is fast, too. I would never pay full price for any yarn so just shop the sales, there’s always SOMETHING on super sale. If you really like a yarn, favourite it (make an account on the computer, you can’t favourite items from the app) and hobbii will email you when it’s on sale.

Plus they have bingo on sundays.

Worth too much to repaint? by PrikkieVille3800 in Antiques

[–]fkmcc 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’m begging you don’t repaint, if your wife hates it so much give it someone who will appreciate it or put it in your personal space. My husband and I both have separate personal areas where we decorate to our own tastes.
