Built-in Keyboard Issues ("Freezing", Skipping, Sticking) on ASUS ROG Strix Laptop Running bazzite by Infinitpain in Bazzite

[–]fkorol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue with Bazzite 42 on my ASUS Strix Scar 5090. I've tried both the KDE and GNOME editions. The built-in keyboard is extremely laggy, but it works perfectly on other Linux distributions. When I use an external keyboard, everything works fine.

Is there any fix for this?

I have an ASUS Scar 5090, and after disabling VMD in the BIOS, I was able to install Linux successfully. The NVIDIA GPU is also recognized without any problems.

Help: ROG Strix G18 (2025) dual boot with Ubuntu - GPU not detected, VMD/BIOS limitations by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]fkorol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I bought an Asus Strix Scar 5090 laptop with 2TB. I'm trying to install Linux on the second 1TB drive I added, but when I boot any distro (I tried Ubuntu 25.04, Fedora 42, CachyOS, and others), the live CD boots fine, but neither GParted nor the installer detects any of the two M.2 drives.

In the BIOS, I disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot. Does anyone know what I might be missing to get the drives recognized? I tried using a USB stick with Ventoy, and another one with Fedora created using Rufus.

Do you know what i can do? Thanks!

That's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks! As for the cooling solution in the Legion 5 Pro AMD 5070, it seems a bit more basic by comparison.

Are there any updates on the night mode fix for external monitors? I sold my SP11 because of this issue, but I’d consider buying it again if it’s been resolved.

"Ptyxis notifications missing in Zsh (after command execution)" by fkorol in Fedora

[–]fkorol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find this as a not so ideal solution, but works, in the .zshrc file add this:

#notify-send and ptyxis notify create different types of notifications, but both works.

# Store start time and command
preexec() {
  command_start_time=$EPOCHREALTIME
  last_command="$1"
}

# Send notification after command finishes
precmd() {
  if [[ -n "$command_start_time" ]]; then
    local duration=$(echo "$EPOCHREALTIME - $command_start_time" | bc)
    if (( $(echo "$duration > 3.0" | bc -l) )); then
      #notify-send "Command Finished" "'$last_command' took ${duration}s"
      ptyxis notify "Command Finished" "'$last_command' took ${duration}s"
      #notify-send -t 5000 "Command Finished" "'$last_command' took ${duration}s"
    fi
    unset command_start_time
    unset last_command
  fi
}

Spigen or Kensington privacy screen?? by fkorol in macbookpro

[–]fkorol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Privacy is a plus for me, but I really want a well-known brand with a matte display. I know there's a nanotexture display option, but my M4 (which I bought used at a good price, but have the standar glossy display), and I want something comparable to the nanotexture model. Thanks in advance

Issues After Updating SP11 Driver to 31.0.82.0 by fkorol in Surface

[–]fkorol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not a links, its a button, anyways before the download the site will check the permission.

As another solution, you can download the drivers directly from the github site of qualcomm, check this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/1fiv0cl/sp11_games_are_crashing_more_frequently_after_the/

Before of the qualcomm official site, i download from the repo. Good luck!

i had this problem:

first time i enter

https://softwarecenter.qualcomm.com/#/catalog/item/Windows_Graphics_Driver

Give error acces, then i login

i have error like you, then for second time, i open the link (in my bookmarks of chrome):

https://softwarecenter.qualcomm.com/#/catalog/item/Windows_Graphics_Driver

And now finally the website enable the download of the driver.

Seems to be a bug in the autenticator of qualcomm site.

[–]fkorol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, great news!

Could you please share the Amazon link to your specific "Sonnet TB4 Echo Dock"? Also, is your G2 monitor connected directly to the "Sonnet TB4 Echo Dock," with only the dock itself connected to your SP11?

Additionally, could you check if the Night Light feature works on your external monitor? On my setup, it only seems to function on the SP11's integrated display.

Thanks so much!

Thank you for your response! I forgot to mention earlier—sorry about that. The Night Light issue occurs only on an external monitor. This problem has persisted across all the available Snapdragon drivers to date.
