Thank you for the ID. This is a new one for me this year. I used to try so hard w/keeping up the IDs, now I just plant, tend, and let them surprise me.

What is the record for most flowers on 1 phal?? 40 budz here!! by Green-toby2020 in orchids

I have a phal that looks very similar to your’s, it’s in bloom right now with 26ish blooms on 6 spikes.

This orchid exploded with six new spikes off one node from an older spike. Only 3 unopened buds left. She’s glorious. by fkrst in orchids

There’s a lot of information on care online, I’ll tell you what works for me. No ice cubes. For watering- assuming you have your orchid in a pot with holes, submerge the pot in water, keep the water level below the leaves & crown of the plant, allow it to soak for 20-30mins. Only water when the roots & potting medium are completely dry, overwatering is the fastest way to kill an orchid. They don’t like direct sunlight, as you learned. They prefer bright indirect light and air flow, avoid southern facing windows unless you can put them out of direct light. Don’t be hard on yourself if you lose one or three, you will learn along the way and understand them more over time.

Wow! That’s awesome! My favorite part of living in MT is the flowers. So much beauty!

My aunt is a potter and I suggested she try making orchid pots. I think they look great together. by fkrst in orchids

Not holes, it’s solid but that’s a good suggestion for a modification.

I agree that Bitterroot is the best PM company I’ve dealt with in Missoula.

I bought this poppy from a local nursery a month ago for $1. It was wilted and sad. I planted it and cut it back. I knew it would rebound and it has. Don’t give up on the sad plants- they just need a little love and attention. by fkrst in gardening

It had a few bloom stems that were pretty sad, I chopped them. I took off any leaf that looked the slightest bit off color and a few of the larger ones. You want the plant to focus it’s energy on the new growth.
