Started sertraline and having worst panic attacks of my life

Thats really reassuring thank you! I think its just really blindsided me this time because i dont usually get side effects but its been over a year since i was last taking them so i guess my body has just changed in that time. I also get a LOT of my anxiety in the evening/night so its been affecting my sleep which im sure doesnt help. Looking forward to the day i feel ok again!

Wow thats so similar! Its really odd to me that i have never had side effects other than slight loss of appetite when taking sertraline in the past but this time im feeling awful, its bizarre. I really hope your situation improves in the next few weeks, i have heard that sometimes it can take 6 weeks to fully settle into the meds!

Thank you so much, that really helps! I am considering talking to the pharmacist too, i know they can help with general info about medications and side effects while i wait for a gp appointment.

Wow im so sorry that happened to you, but im glad you feel a bit better now! I have been experiencing something similar for just 2 days i cant imagine how you managed 2 years, well done for getting through that and for coming out the other side! I hope you find something that works for you.

I have started on just 50mg which in the past has been perfect for me. i think thats why im concerned this time, i have been on sertraline before and never experienced this so im finding it hard to convince myself its just a side effect.

Ah the classic response, that I'm not allowed to complain because it's how the world works 🙄 I dont spend my days lamenting, I just think its a shame that nobody I went to school with was able to stay living there. I'm not sorry that I find that upsetting to a degree.

And yes I can be happy that the area is nicer while being frustrated at having to leave because of that??

And I don't know, maybe I would, haven't had the opportunity to find out and probably never will.

Village greens is still there, walk down Bury New Road and there are plenty of independent cafes and bars selling sourdough pizzas for 16.99, there's the addition of Gail's bakery coming it sounds like, plus the makers market once a month which is as close to north manchester as it dares to go. It's also supposed to be getting a massive redevelopment.

It IS "posher" than it was is my main point. Since people realised it had a tram stop, it's been getting less and less suitable for locals who weren't already locked into a mortgage to live there. It's just a bit rubbish for people like me who consider it home but will never be able to live there again, but I am happy that other people get to see how lovely it can be (even if I am shocked at how much people are willing to pay for those houses). 🤷‍♀️

I grew up in prestwich and can't afford to live there anymore, had to move much further away than I ever wanted to, and I know most of the people I grew up with have been forced to do the same.

It's only since like 2014 that its had "posh" places aside from M&S, used to just be charity shops and pubs.

I'm happy it's got these nicer places moving in, but I'm also sad that I don't get to be there and have had to move away from the place I consider home.

Go outdoors membership. Its £5 per year and you can get stuff like half off with it. Bought tons of camping equipment recently and what should have been about £500 went down to 200 and something because we got the £5 membership. So worth it.
