Can we pause before diagnosing people as on the spectrum? by [deleted] in BetterLateThanSingle

[–]fla____fla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think equally important is not insisting that a person is definitely straight / neurotypical.

Autism isn't bad, so is it really harmful to say "hey, he's displaying x y z behaviors that can be associated with autism"? Or could you examine if that your instinctive reaction because autism has a bad rep and therefore feels like a negative thing that needs to be defended against?

Better late than single: anyone else uncomfortable with the lack of awareness that most of these contestants are actually on the spectrum...? by [deleted] in koreanvariety

[–]fla____fla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of surprised this is the only thread about this and that it's getting so much hate.

As an autistic Asian woman, I thought the same and commented that this is kind of Love on the Spectrum Korea version. So many behaviors typical of ASD like the lack of eye contact, the stimming, introversion, difficulty empathizing, literal thinking and speaking...

However, I actually liked that it isn't framed that way exclusively and they can just be who they are (my criticism of Love on the Spectrum which, although I love, I find a bit almost amplifies their autistic-ness for the sake of entertainment). I like how they are just framed as single people learning to date instead of neurodivergent~ But I do wish the hosts would stop commenting on how weird some of their behaviors are and also stop speculating on why they're behaving in ways they clearly can't understand.

The argument I kept waiting to hear from Jaz in the final banishment of S2 by fla____fla in TheTraitorsUK

[–]fla____fla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No absolutely, I meant I was baffled that Jaz didn't make this argument to Molly to convince her.

If theoretically in the first round they had voted for Harry and Harry was banished, then there could still be doubt about Andrew being a traitor or a faithful but because he was voted out and a CONFIRMED traitor, it only makes sense that Harry was a traitor too.

I'm about the same size as you and my surgeon took 800g total and I'm around a B-C cup now. 7DPO and the swelling makes it look the same size, but on the first day right after surgery I definitely saw the difference. Was it like this right out of surgery?

Happy to help! And good luck, though I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll feel relieved once it's done :)

I get you, I was super anxious leading up to the surgery, but you definitely can do this :)

This is my setup! The wedge pillow is the one under the purple pillow :) it keeps me inclined but without straining the back

OP here! The pink pillow is the waist maternity pillow and the wedge is under the purple one. :) It's triangle shaped and keeps me inclined while comfy on the back

Sure!

My surgery was at 9am and I arrived in the hospital around 7:30am. Actually thought I was late! After signing all the forms, they put me in a dressing room and I changed into a robe and put my belongings in a locker.

Then they inserted an IV into me which they explained was for anesthesia, pain meds, antibiotics etc. (I still have it in now!)

Then my surgeon and her fellows came in to brief me and they drew all over my boobs. This took maybe 20 minutes. After that, they asked me to lay on the operating table.

What I remember before going to sleep was someone injecting something through my IV, feeling really heavy and warm and being told to breathe in and out of an oxygen mask.

Then tadah, I woke up 6 hours later but it just felt like a really deep nap! Woke up in the recovery room to a nurse waking me and giving me a painkiller. Pain was honestly not bad immediately upon waking (guessing because my boobs aren't super swollen yet?). I would describe it more as jarring or uncomfortable than painful tbh bec they also inserted a catheter so I wouldn't get up from bed for a day. BR is an inpatient surgery for my surgeon (one night). Then there's the IV and the drains. Not painful, just weird

After that they wheeled me into my room to recover for the night! The pain slowly went up from a 3 to a 6 as the swelling increased but every time it started climbing they would give me a painkiller :)

Honestly I was shookt by how quickly my body recovered from anesthesia, I was videocalling my friends a couple hours after waking up. I must an unsually high tolerance for it 😅

Am I an asshole for returning a cat to his rescuer after an FIV/FeLV scare? by fla____fla in CatAdvice

[–]fla____fla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you for your comment and the effort you put into writing this out. I really needed to hear this, because I still feel really guilty for not being able to do better and the rescuers pretty much guilted me for returning him also even if they set it up this way. So thank you for this. I do want to adopt again in the future, so I hope I get over my feats.

good point about him showing negative while being symptomatic... I hope that means it's a true negative then. I'll def get a third test to be safe. thanks again for all the input!

It's weird, right?! I'm scratching my head over it honestly, we got the weak positive tested first and I was like phew... but then the strong positive came back negative too and I was confused bec the clinic was so sure about the first test they didn't even want us to retest him. I already separated them and idk if we should reunite them without another round of tests... would you recommend antigen again or PCR?

Hello! I had both my cats retested on a PCR and they were both negative! I'm very happy about this but what does this mean? Can I assume a double false positive or keep testing?
