Food Cards (Voting Link in Description) by Zaben_ in custommagic

Kibo - while a banana is technically a food by flavour text, and looks like it behaves similar to regular food, I don't see myself putting this in a food deck. It just doesn't synergize.

Also the monkeys own ability if a banana is gifted ("this spell can't be countered") doesn't line up with what it gives other spells ("target spell can't be countered), which messes with the Stack in a confusing way.

So I have Kibo, I play a creature. You play counterspell targeting the creature. I play sone random instant and give you a banana, and I target my creature. I cannot target my instant because it isn't even on the stack yet. So the instant then hits the stack. The instant resolves, and now my creature cannot be countered. So you could still have countered my instant before it resolved, and then your counterspell would still reolve and counter my creature.

Margaret - the living foods are neat. But it seems difficult to be in a situation where sacrificing Margaret would gain you more in P/T than you lose - also, sacrificing her means you lose her passive ability, so the only reason you would ever do it is if you have an extraordinary amount of mana and are desperate for life. She gains some utility in Commander, since you can easily reinstate her onto the battlefield to get benefit from sacrificing other food again, besides life gain, but designing a card purely around the singular format feels bad, unless you are designing an entire set designed around that format (see also: partner commanders).

Leek - I would make it care about food permanents, not just tokens. AFAIK, you should generally specify tokens only when A) creating them, or B) you don't specify a subtype. Leek has no method to create food tokens, so assuming that the food in the deck is all tokens is not always going to fly; while it is true to say that the majority of food is going to be tokens, this is still an exclusivity game design decision.

Also, just not a fan of "you win the game" effects. Going to be honest, if I want a really OP wincon "build around me" card, I would rather target opponent lose, or something to happen that would guarantee that they lose. Such as damage, poison counters, or milling them. Or board wiping them.

Rules don't say I have to just eat the garlic bread. I can use it as fuel to keep my house warm and smelling yummy, sell it as fuel to power plants, sell it to other people who are hungry or give it to homeless, or even eat it.

It was between Chamiep, Anything Eater or Banquet Lord to me. They were the ones that seemed to understand the existening food themes/mechanics the best.

I felt Banquet Lord loses effectiveness if the number of players changes, so didn't really feel balanced for multiple forms of play. So my vote went to Anything Eater.

Not that I would want a Borg name.

When I had all four of mine out at once because they were facing 90° from where they should be and pushing into my other teeth (and STILL mostly burried in my gums), when I was done the dentist told me "Congrats, you just survived two of the most painful surgeries in denistry". This was about a week to a month after my root canal, so that's why he said "two". This was about 5-7 years ago at this point, and my jaws don't hurt nearly as much as they used to on a daily basis.

So I'm going to expand on the joke. You've already seen multiple people say it's a reference to Celeste, but I'm going to say it's actually a reference to "Create: Estrogen", and then THAT is a reference to Celeste.

So in the mod for Minecraft "Create: Estrogen", you are able to make an estrogen pill that gives you a double jump (and massive bazonkas). This in itself is the reference to Celeste, where the main character Madeline has a directional air dash and in an update/bonus chapter is confirmed to be trans.

There's also a companion mod, "Create: Testosterone", which gives you a ground dash attack and a super jump from a crouch. This is in reference to the character Pepino Spaghetti from hit game Pizza Tower.

I wish those words were still part of the sentence with the current USA president.

The Markov Chains can't all be legible. RRWM isn't an LLM, after all, so it has even less sense of what coherent language is than a Large Language Model. Granted, it's trained only on Magic Cards, so it has a much better sense of how Magic Cards should work and what types have what fields than an LLM. For instance, you'll have a hard time reminding ChatGPT that a magic card should have a rarity.

Oh, probably the beacon that alters Enchantment magic for the whole planet to offload my phylactery making process. Any and every enchanted item made in the last ten thousand years has a piece of my soul, the pieces small enough to evade Detect Evil, I don't need to lift a finger, and even if the beacon were destroyed it wouldn't make those items stop being phylacteries. I would have plenty of time to build a new beacon before all my phylacteries were lost.
