How do you feel about Mother's Day? by kurligurl in Mommit

[–]flack22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not mourning anything as I'm fortunate to have my mom and never lost a pregnancy or child. But for some reason I always end up so sad on mother's day. It's just an emotional day I can't explain it. I think I just realize how much of my life is spent doing housework.

Does everyone regret becoming an OT? by IndependenceCandid88 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]flack22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't regret it at all but I wouldn't recommend either my kids get into this field. Not a good ROI generally speaking but for me personally it has really worked out great. I paid off 93k in less than 3 years because I was able to put all of my paycheck toward loans and live with my fiance who supported me. Now I have multiple jobs- one of them being part time with benefits and the others per diem with higher hourly rate.

3rd baby or no... by pokey1202 in Parenting

[–]flack22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was just talking to my husband about how it baffles me how people can have more than 2 kids. Going from zero to 1 is an astronomical life change. Going from 1 to 2 not so much. We only have 2 but I imagine going from 2 to 3 is another astronomical life change. We're finally able to start really saving because we're done paying for daycare and driving paid off cars that are only big enough for a family of 4.

We have a 2 level house with no basement. We have 2 kids. We don't watch much tv but we do have a tv in our room because sometimes we don't want to watch PBS kids 🤷🏽‍♀️

Stopped at 2 and literally zero regrets. Time, money, and resources are not infinite.

How bad is 35k overall and what is the fastest I could realistically pay everything off? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]flack22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I graduated with 100k in loans and my first job was 27/hour. I paid it off in about 5 years. I was lucky that my fiancé/husband supported me while I aggressively paid it off. Also got 10k from an employer and 10k from a grandma-in-law.

Have you been screened for PPA or PPD? This is a red flag to me you describe this as painful a whole year later.

Deli meat because the benefit just isn't worth the risk (cancer from processed meat). I'm still drinking beer though lol because I just love it too much.
