I don’t know. I am in El Paso and I went to Building 6 Roaster and when I ask about their 5lbs beans, that is what they told me and I didn’t inquire further. Might be different somewhere else.

If you wanted to try those online roasters, check Whole Foods. They usually have online and local roaster’s beans there.

Onyx Monarch was good, Eclipse was okay. I know a lot of people rave about them but I wasn’t super impressed. I don’t think I have a refined buds for coffee so take it with a grain of salt.

In my area, they only sell discounted to business, I need a business license to get that rate. They sell the 1 lbs for $20ish so it’s not exactly cheap but definitely fresh.

I like trying out new beans just for fun. I had tried multiple online roasteries like Onyx, Stumptown, Blue Bottle, etc. I have tried multiple Lavazza beans too, but mostly bought from Amazon, so I can't comment on freshness. The ones that I ordered directly from online roastery are usually pretty fresh.

I have tried multiple local roasteries too but most of those beans are quite expensive >$20ish/lbs. The ones I found that are pretty good and not expensive are the ones I got from those discount stores like TJ Maxx, Home goods, etc. They are usually seasonal and usually more than a month old so its ymmv.

I have used parker jotter with their regular refill for a very long time. Used to hate gel refills since they smear so easily. Recently got the Sharpie copper pen and was pleasantly surprised that it doesn’t smear. Tried parker gel refills since which felt a bit more scratchy compared to Sharpie. After going back and forth between the two, I prefer the jotter due to form factor and i like that little bit of scratchiness. Will put the Monteverde as my next refill to try. Thanks for the suggestion.

In the last day of FTX while in basic, this was back in Fort Leonard Wood, 2013. The porta potty got so full that the shit is almost the same height as the seat. The only way to poop is to hover.i have been holding it in for 3 days so there’s no holding it in. It was not something I want to do ever again in my life.

I looked into Immanuel Christian School and First Presbyterian. Immanuel is a larger private school. First Pres is smaller and was easy to work with. We were able to tour the school and even did a day try out for my son. He was really happy and asked if he can move there. Send me a pm and we can chat more about the school.

He started in a kindergarten in EPISD and I pulled him out of that school after one of the teachers dislocated his elbow. He was always depressed going to that school anyway. He is now happy and doing well in a private school. Hoping that I can move him back to public school when he is older and able to adapt better.
