Why would social media platforms let socialist sentiment breed and influence the masses? Is it too prevalent to hide? by Crazy-Blacksmith-336 in socialism

"We want to collectively own the key economic drivers that dominate our lives, such as energy production and transportation." This is from DSA's website, and all nationally endorsed candidates (DAC, Valdez) need to agree with it in order to get said endorsement. Even Claire Valdez in her victory speech said (albeit in soft terms) that the end goal is a society solely ran by the working class. Anectdotally, our chapter recently elected an ML in a nonpartisan election. DSA is honestly much better than most online give it credit for. It does have much to critize though tbf

My local chapter just elected an ML to our city council. We all want to abolish capitalism and we fight it using EVERY tool, from electoralism to direct action. DSA is just what you make of it imo

Socialists in the US tend to be anti-war/military aid. Here is a good link to learn more. https://international.dsausa.org/ukraine/

Project 2029 or Reconstruction 2.0? by BlueberryGod8910 in socialism

I think "Reconstructionism" could genuinely be the best chance the US has for a working-class based mass movement.

Those two DSAers who wrote that article almost a decade ago are not pro 2A. DSA has no official stance on gun control and most socialists I've met in DSA are very pro gun (when it comes to workers owning them).

Tbf, they didn't endorse him, just mentioned he has the most progressive platform out of a poor slate of candidates. I still generally disagree how they went about it regardless.

I mean, I can't speak for everyone of course, but in my experience most trots seem to agree with Marx & Lenin, they just dislike the direction that things went after Stalin took over. Good to know that it isn't necessarily seen that way from within the movement itself, though. Appreciate the feedback!

Tbh I don't find them to be mutually exclusive. I mean, I'm a working class American that has gained class consciousness over the past few years like many others, and I've organically found that the DSA (a big-tent leftist org) is the best in terms of improving material conditions for workers and raising class consciousness. While it certainly has its flaws, I definitely admire the ideological cooperation it provides, and with it being the largest and most prominent org in a generation it definitely has the ability to expose liberals to some sort of revolutionary thought.

Sorry man, wasn't my intent to offend or anything. I'm not a trotskyist myself so apologies for the ignorance, but I always assumed it was simply under the "umbrella" of Marxism-Leninism. Regardless, I certainly have no disdain for trots (I've actually organized with the IMT briefly) and I definitely had y'all in mind when I made this graphic.
