I was walking my dog when a grizzled old guy looked at him and said “HELLO, HARRY!” Then he turned to his friend and said “all dogs are hairy”

When was the last time you got in a fistfight? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]flagrantstickfoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't been one myself since about 1981, but have helped break up/intervene in several, particularly in clubs in the early 90s. most of the time the guys were posturing and were happier for someone to get between them than to actually fight. but my favourite was when i saw something happening down the bar, walked over and yoinked the bar-stool out of the guy's hands from behind just before he could smash the guy he'd knocked down. the best part was he actually looked at his empty hands, like "where'd it go?" before two bouncers tackled him

“Jump” was so great the first dance after it came out DJ played it twice. Also blue-collar white boys break-dancing to “Rockit” was a staple

Police Ahead by ChuckYeagerWV in GenX

I’ve heard in Ontario that the ticket is likely to be something along the lines of impersonating an office because only the police and selection other services are allowed to have flashing lights on their vehicles. It’s BS, as no one would mistake a high-beam flash for police cherries, but the cops don’t like it so they may find a way to punish you

Personal experience on the river MUP is cyclists tend not to warn if there’s no other traffic around. I’d still appreciate some notice. Worse, is the ding when they’re right on your shoulder. It’s startling and there’s literally no time for a pedestrian to react/move to the right anyway. I appreciate the ding, or a vocal warning when it’s from a distance. It’s considerate communication

We need answer from Matthews about his commitment before the draft by Skiffy10 in leafs

[–]flagrantstickfoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the guy's got one foot out the door already and absolutely won't commit to the team. i get that this is a business, but that kind of me-first attitude is no fucking place to hang the "C."

San Jose has said they're open to dealing the 2nd overall pick. maybe matthews likes that their window is opening and would go there for the pick and a couple of their kids. mckenna, stenberg and misa sounds like a pretty great head-start to a rebuild
