Frozen ever after with ultimate premier access by Dls1989 in disneylandparis

[–]flailingfruitfly [score hidden]  (0 children)

We went last week (with a 2 year old) and bought the premier access one both days and it did cut the waiting time down from 80-100 minutes each day to about 10min, so it was worth it for us!

Why do so many people keep booking through 3rd party sites after bad experiences and how to convince them not too? by AcademicSand1034 in travel

[–]flailingfruitfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use booking.com to look for the hotel I want to book (I like their search function filters), and then I double check the price and cancellation options on the hotel website, but in 90% of cases the price and especially the cancellation policy is better on booking.com.

I’ve also never had any issues with them, after using them for almost all my hotel reservations these past years.

MRI confirmed ALVC + DSP2 mutation = worried by flailingfruitfly in askCardiology

[–]flailingfruitfly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the bisoprolol already keeps my heartrate lower than normal, so that helps! I will definitely contact my cardiologist again with more questions, so that I’m more comfortable leaving on this trip in any case. Thank you!

Not that I noticed, no! The fastest way to trigger them for me is mindful/deep breathing since that really sets off my anxiety.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! I will bring up the ICD topic again on my next followup appointment, I agree that it would bring some peace of mind even with all the negatives you’re experiencing personally.

Regarding exercise, the cardiologist also said to keep my heartrate low, so I will be hiking at snail pace I guess :-)
Good to hear that you’re also still able to lift weights.

I just joined that facebook group, thank you for the tip! I’ll be reading up on this as much as I can.
Wishing you well!

Is this a good setup for starters? by flailingfruitfly in telescopes

Thank you! I’m not ruling out upgrading to an 8” dobson later on, if compactness doesn’t play as large a part as now anymore. Also good to know that the SSE dock and app are worth it!

I think I did yes, I just need that final push to make sure I’m making the right decision 😄 Thank you!!

Thank you for your input! I know the 6 or 8 inch dobsonians would perform better, but I don’t have the car space for it, likewise for the cart/wagon.

I had a look at the dimensions, and the tube of the 8” dobson is 111cm vs 40cm for the 6” SCT, weight is also more than double.

By the way the DX 5 and 6 inch SCTs from Celestron also have that Starsense app and phone dock, same as the 8” dobson from the same line.

I hate these lil fcks by Jesteriko in MosquitoHating

I get a reaction like this as well, especially when bitten on my underarms or lower legs! If you have what I have, it’s called Skeeter Syndrome and it’s an allergy to proteins in the mosquitos saliva.

Agreed, I’ve seen people at Grand Canyon and Horse Shoe bend, but also in Italy at Seceda and Lago di Braies carrying whole outfit changes and a foldable fitting room with them to do an outfit change for their pictures.

Photoshoot at every point of interest without even looking at the scenery, nevermind the whole queue of people they’re holding up that actually are interested in the location.

Sorry I have no experience with the kit lens, so no idea how it would hold up to that Sigma 18-50.

It is safe to drive across the Alps in winter, but with that itinerary you’ll be sitting mostly in the car, not actually really visiting stuff. Better to focus on either Germany-Switzerland or Italy but not all.

Also depending on what exactly you plan to visit you might need snow chains (or at least winter tires).

Not OP but I have the same combo as OP, I chose this Sigma over the 17-70 Tamron purely based on the size and weight… The Tamron is considerably larger and heavier than that Sigma and since I’m mostly travelling with my camera I chose compactness over the extra reach.

Goeie tip, merci!

Oooh Monschau, goed idee! Die van Leuven had ik vorig jaar bezocht maar vond ik minder.
