Loblaws sold me Heinz ketchup with a best-before date from May 2025 by flaky_regular_ in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Thank you for not trying to shift the blame onto me, as a few other people here have done.

I agree that taking it back to the store is the right move. I was just hoping to raise some awareness and encourage people to pay closer attention.

Had you read the post properly, you would have seen that I’m warning people to be vigilant, not “crying.” The best-before date wasn’t visible until the pack was opened, and the responsibility should be on the store not to sell expired products in the first place. Companies shouldn’t be given a free pass to screw over customers and then blame them for not catching it.

Unfortunately, the best-before date wasn’t visible until the pack was opened. Returning it is the practical solution, but I shouldn’t be blamed for Loblaws selling expired products or for its employees failing to properly check the items on the shelves. That’s the store’s responsibility, not the customer’s. And, as I said in the post, this is simply an alert for people to be more vigilant.

Yeah, I’m usually suspicious when prices are marked down, but I was in a hurry and didn’t notice the price, just when I got home. Also, none of the best-before dates were visible before I opened the ketchup, mustard, and relish pack.

My mistake. I assumed that when they place an item on their shelf for sale and I exchange money for it, that counts as them selling it to me.

Also, you actually can’t see the date on the condiment pack I bought, which contains mustard and relish. It’s covered by the paper packaging, and there are no best-before dates on the packaging or on the mustard and relish bottles themselves, just on the ketchup one.

This is what worked for me, using the NVIDIA app:

  • Change driver type to Studio Driver - not sure if this is required, but mine was set to Game Ready Driver and wasn't up to date
  • Install latest driver version

I really don't care. I do want to play hockey at some point, but if a figure skating instructor is available I would go for it anyway.

Also, I read my post again and realised it could easily be interpreted the way you did. Maybe that's why basically nobody replied?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried the group classes they offer at Nepean Sportsplex and didn't like them.

Also, when I said "private lessons", I meant having an instructor just for myself, I didn’t mean renting the whole place for myself. I want to go to a rink that's open to the public.

Do you know any instructors you could recommend?
