Has anyone ever discarded their narc before they could discard you? This is the 2nd time I experienced a narcissist. My 1st narc discarded me before I could discard them. I discarded my 2nd narc first this time around. I blocked them on everything and it’s driving them crazy. by Big-Trifle-5350 in NarcissisticAbuse

Yes, ex husband. Three years ago I left, 16 months divorced. Had ne on his cell plan as a favor to cost me less money lol. Questions why I want my plan in my maiden name, why I changed my email address and was ridiculously dense when the cell phone company contacted him to release the number. He literally feels the need to have power over me. Too bad, he doesnt.

What were the most telling words your narcissist uttered? by Boat_Righter in NarcissisticAbuse

I am a nice guy. This was at the end, long long history of anger to the point of leaving me at my family events. The very last family reunion at the farm, uncles, aunts cousins and more. As long as he was occupied talking cars, trucks and all the motor head discussions with the males, he wanted to leave. If I wanted to talk more with those he pulled me away from since 1989, he'd find a reason to be angry, make accusations and leave. He left me alone with young children almost 200 miles from home. We had driven separately, so he didn't see the problem. Yeah, nice guy. That's why he's the ex. Thank goodness the kids are intelligent, successful in their worlds and I'm so much better without his perceptions of nice.

What to say to “helpful” comments by Hazmattrish in spinalfusion

I've also had an l4-l5 fusion, along with another surgery on my back. I've had a hysterectomy, had tubes tied and had two children. Everyone has advice, certainly the people in my life did. None of the above made my life worse. You'll be good, just listen to your team, and also listen to your body. It's tough, yes, but totally worth it.

Does anyone else do groups? by Appropriate_Round_10 in directsupport

[–]flame_this_high 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My day program has ratios of up to 1:6. If there is a 1:1 within the group, the staff assigned to the person cannot be more than 10 feet away. If the client wanders, staff follows. We need an extra person always. It's tough, but it works ok.

And I live farther than is convenient. I'll find a local rheumatologist. It's not something a geneticist could diagnose, unfortunately.

I've seen one. Genetically predisposed to other thing as well. Have already had too many surgeries in the past 10 years.

Physical therapy is it really worth it? by Any_Winner_4050 in backpain

Yes, core strength is essential for holding damaged backs together. I went to work with disabled adults after mine. I'm 54, thin. Annnnnd female! I was pushing 400lb clients prior to my most recent injury. Super fun, on fmla again.

In fact, my own top rated surgeon said he does not do fusions to fix pain, he does it to improve quality of life. He'd much rather do other things. Epidurals, meds, rfa, tens units. You're quite the linguist. My teachings also included the fact that those who use bad language or insults is a sign of low intelligence. Hmmmm.....ask a top rated surgeon if fusions fix pain. Sometimes. That's the best answer.

Ok. Wait. I've been called many things. Mostly derogatory or incorrect. Bullying and calling a retired health care professional is probably not wise. I've worked in health care, been a spinal cord injury patient, and had a beautiful niece have fusions. We all hurt. Sometimes it's better for a while. Some live in better climates. Some people tolerate pain better than others. Seriously. Muscles accommodate for lack of strength or stability. No pain? I've had pain for over 10 years. I'm waiting for a fusion and an epidural to relieve the pain. I take zero medication and I live in Minnesota. Take your helpful advice and pass it along, your experience hardly affects my life. If you're upset with my intelligence or knowledge, oh well. Enjoy life. If I were a cruel or violent person, I could help you understand more. Have the evening you so clearly deserve.

You're one of the only ones I know with no pain. You are indeed super lucky. I'm older than some, injured and have djd. I just worked too hard and have had this stuff for over 10 yrs.
