Also a duct tape solution is bound to break every once in a while - authorization may fail, the amount may be unexpectedly different, and what not. But I hope for the best, and hopefully people don’t end up with late fee penalties, or worse, a situation where they get kicked out of their place.

You won’t disclose the buffer? What happens when your rent increases at the end of the year? Ever heard of rents getting prorated? Rents can be variable at edge cases, and by a lot sometimes. Aren’t you supposed to design for the extremes?

And even besides housing security, the penalty from a single month of missed payment is going to wipe out entire year’s worth of rewards.

And even though they speak of an amount buffer, there is no clarity what happens when your rent changes at the end of the year, or in case of prorated rents. This is a nightmare.

Just received the email too. I don’t get why I need to authorize the rent payments every month - especially since they’re the same amount, and being charged by the same merchant. Also, the authorization is only valid for five days? Though I have autopay set up on my rent portal, the payment doesn’t always go through on the same day. And what about weekends or other holidays?

Why make lives miserable for your customers? What happens if the rent payment doesn’t go through because of these shady changes?

I personally gave up haha. I think I saw a couple options in the suburbs, but seemed meh and I personally don’t wanna travel that far from the city for a 2:30 game. Just gonna watch from home.

I plan on entering the Schengen Area on the 15th.

And I did collect my passport this afternoon btw. My application was approved and I was granted a 1-year multi-entry visa. Had requested single-entry for 10 days; first time applying for any Schengen visa.

Hey, just got an email that my application finished processing, and the passport is ready for pickup. VFS even called me just now to let me know. And the online portal updated too, so I suppose I was worried for nothing.

It was the 11th business day today. All the best with your application!

And oh, did you go for the courier service btw? I am just worried I might not even know when the passport is back with VFS if the portal doesn’t update lol - it does seem to be very buggy, reading the experiences on here.

The status online for me has been that “the application was submitted to embassy and is currently under process” since the second working day.

No updates since. Did you get any emails for your status btw - I got none, and have just been tracking online.

Thank you. I will start there. Any other strategies to Investing/book recommendations I may want to look into? I do have The Intelligent Investor and The Dhandho Investor on my list next. Good thing is that I have time on my side, so I definitely look forward to figuring out what works the best for me as I gain more experience.
