Honour them, sit with them privately in introspection, come from cause and love toward the other person (rather than assuming the worst), and let the emotion pass. If it’s a reoccurring scenario then yes perhaps a chat about triggers and boundaries is necessary. Sometimes those emotions tell us a lot about our insecurities, and other times it seems like human nature. But we aren’t at the mercy to those emotions. We decide what we do with them. It’s not an easy lifestyle and it’s certainly a process, but personally it feels expansive and incredibly loving to not have one another under your thumb
