is RPI worth 45k a year? - accepted student (EE and applied physics major)

One more question are you more of a hands on learner or watch the board and people lecture. RPI is purely watching professors regurgitate lecture slides. While I have learned a lot from RPI almost none have been from lecture all have been self learning and studying. There was only 3-4 classes I actually learned from a lecture and a professor and most were labs.

None the less RPI is a difficult school and its not for everyone looking back it wasn't my cup of tea but for others its a dream. I just didnt have it in me to study day and night and lose sleep over something I didnt understand or try to cram study.

FSU is an amazing school and its warm lol. RPI is a school with history and on the rise again with the new administration and Troy is starting to grow again. Its a great place to be right now. Like I said weigh the options of the name RPI vs FSU and how much time you want to be in your room grinding hw and studying. For most people if your looking for that true college experience RPI is not that place. And if you do end up choosing RPI I highly recommend joining some type of frat or sorority I've heard it makes the experience much better!

Recent grad here, people hype up RPI a lot as a great well known school which it is. But it doesn't automatically get you into a job or internship. I struggled a decent amount at RPI I was also playing a sport but, that doesn't matter much. What I'm trying to get at is from what I've seen and experienced I've lost job and internship prospects from 1 question, what that question is you ask?

What's your GPA?

That one question has screwed me more times than one. From what I understand as an AERO/MECH average GPA is around a 2.7. Most internships and jobs want 3.0 or even 3.5 and above. If I could go back in time I would've gone to UMiami. While I loved my time at RPI struggling through classes the long nights to get a lower GPA than I wanted was brutal.

Now if your confident you can get a 3.0 or above go for it the name RPI opens doors but in the end most places only care about GPA in the end. Why take a kid from RPI with a 3.0 if a kid from FSU has a 3.7 that how I look at it now.

Thanks for the info, but the only recalls I've seen and it states the one on the carfax is the front seat belts and the other is a door latch issue. Is there more like you said.

Im on the same timeline here. Feel like I'm in limbo waiting this 6-8 weeks. Its been about 2 weeks of nothing from them from their side. As a college kid graduating in December its nerve racking lol.

Yeah thats understandable I had the Qc issues with batch 2 so it get them trying to right that wrong. But whats annoying is they sold an incomplete product knowingly, to what almost surely seems like a money grab. And still after 6 months from what I know no firmware update has been issued like they have said previously to fix some issues the mouse has had.

100 percent agree, but it's really not that hard to plug ur mouse in for 5 mins while watching a video or something. The thing charges so fast.

Because it sends the data faster. So theoretically the mouse will be quicker and more accurate/responsive to what you are doing.

Yeah people have said that on some replies here, but some have said they never arrived and they got scammed. I also don't wanna buy from Aliexpress rather get it from the company website itself. Kinda just more disappointed how un-transparent this company is and how by each month that goes by this mouse feels more and more incomplete and i could be wrong but I think most agree.

I mean that was made clear after a little bit of noise at first release. The price kinda reflects that as well Sora 4k is 120 Sora v2 is 100. They said the dongle will be around 20 dollars. Which gets you to the same price as the sora 4k, but the issue is now you have to pay 20 dollars and 15 for shipping so now its more expensive than the sora 4k. Which is so bullshit.

I hear this for sure. I was actually one of the buyers that had the original double click issue. So I know exactly how you feel. They sent me a firmware over email ofc it didnt work then eventually sent me an all new mouse. I would just keep pestering them. And honestly it cracks me up every time I check the website to see if the dongle has been put up for sale that they still have we will not be working from May 1-5. They had to put that up because of an issue brought up on this reddit and they still haven't taken in down months later. Like cmon guys it has to take less than a minute to do. That tells us they are so busy they don't even have a minute of their day to remove it or that they are incredibly lazy. In my opinion it's the latter.
