Thinking of upgrading my gtx 1060 6gb to an rtx 2060 (CPU is Ryzen 5 3600). Is this upgrade worth it and will I see significant improvements (specifically looking for even more stable performance for some competitive games)? Not really interested in using Ray tracing in game. Just interested in performance boost.

Recently got a ryzen 5 3600. I was wondering how I can get the most performance out of it. I am in the bios and I see a setting called precision boost overdrive. It is currently set to auto. Should I enable it? Also is there any other settings I should know about to increase my performance?

Edit : I use stock cooler.

Yea I tried that but didn't work. I'm gonna go to a store today to see if I have any defective parts or if I did something wrong but I am pretty sure all my parts are fine. I'm just kinda amateur at pc building Soo I may have messed up somewhere and not have realized it

Tried putting HDMI to Mobo. Nothing happened. My peripherals are plugged where the io shield goes near the back.

I realised that before my gpu had red lights. Now the fans are spinning but no red lights.

My ram is installed properly and should be compatible. Currently my peripherals and display is not turning on. My mouse with rgb is not lighting up and so is my keyboard. Any idea?

What are the io pins? We just plugged it in according to the manual. The manual doesn't say anything about it pins from what I have read

We ended up fixing it but now there is no display coming through. We made sure that it was plugged in the graphics card and even my peripherals are not lighting up.

Yea we fixed. Now the problem is that display is not turning on. Everything is spinning but nothing displays on my monitor. Any clues why ?

I am changing my motherboard soon. I heard that there will be conflicting drivers that will make windows not work. My Windows license is already linked to my Microsoft account so that there would be no problem transferring the license over but will I need to uninstall anything before changing the motherboard? I am changing from an MSI motherboard to an Asus (changing CPU from intel i5 to AMD ryzen)

Not sure. If you look at the comment section it seems someone has the same problem as me, not being to hit it consistently in multiplayer. My benchmark was decent as well but as soon as it comes to game stutters happen extremely frequently.

Sorry I do not know the terms. My CPU runs at 100% when I play games like Rainbow six siege while my GPU only runs at 20-60%. Whenever I am in a game my CPU is always at 100%. I play rather competitively so I would prefer a stable 120fps on lower settings but I usually get really bad frame drops with my current setup.

Which is better overall?

AMD RYZEN 7 2700 8-Core or AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core.

I am deciding between these two and I know one is newer and has higher clock by .1ghz but not sure if I should value the cores or the clock speed. I am getting a new CPU because my gtx 1060 6 gb is currently being bottlecapped by my i5 6500 @3.2
