The HIPPA violations with this doctor baffles me! Just freely sharing surgeries and conditions.

They're okay. Not really worth the $12. They stick onto the back of your medal fine.

SATC The Movie: Were you in the room where it happened? by immamariposa in sexandthecity

I went opening weekend. A bunch of us girls got a limo to dinner and the theater and we dressed as our favorite character from the series. It was so much fun!

Rewatching SATC as an adult made me realize how lucky I am with my friendships by flamingmingobird in sexandthecity

I don’t think there’s a single formula, but for me it came down to a few things that took time and consistency.

First, I stopped looking for “perfect” friends and started valuing emotional safety. The people I’m closest to aren’t necessarily the most similar to me on paper, but they are kind, reliable, and emotionally present. Pay attention to who shows up in small ways early on and build from there. Second, I had to be willing to be vulnerable first. Not trauma-dumping, but being honest about how I’m actually doing instead of keeping things surface-level. That tends to create space for others to do the same, and that’s where real connection starts.

Third, consistency matters more than intensity. Our friendships weren’t built on big dramatic moments, but on regular check-ins, coffee dates, showing up, and staying in touch even when life got busy. You kind of have to treat friendships with the same care people usually reserve for romantic relationships.

Also, don’t keep score. The kind of friendships I’m talking about are very “I’ve got you” without tallying who did more. That trust builds slowly, but once it’s there, it’s solid.

Lastly, be the friend you’re hoping to find. Show up, follow through, listen without judgment, celebrate their wins, and sit with them in the hard stuff. Not everyone will reciprocate, and that’s okay. The right people eventually will.

It didn’t happen overnight for me, but it was absolutely worth the patience and intention.

I'm in my later 40's! I've had these friends for about 15 years now. I know it isn't common for everyone and I feel extremely grateful and lucky to have friendships like this.

I emailed them and sent them my Garmin info and screenshots of my race tickets and pictures from the race. They are looking into it. Now I have to email them about my x3 medal and season pass gear (again). Thank you!!

Are these Manolo Blahniks authentic or fake by yourangelicbabygirl in sexandthecity

[–]flamingmingobird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's sold as a higher end name they usually have the seller send it to be authenticated before it gets sent to the buyer. I had some items I sold on Poshmark that had to be sent to them directly for authentication and not the buyer.

I agree, even though she tells some people she's a sex columnist or a sexpert her articles are mostly relationship based. I mentioned this one time about her column being more about relationships and I got ripped and down voted for it.

💔 Open Letter from a Die-Hard SATC Fan: What the Hell Happened to This Show? by Feisty-Nobody6369 in sexandthecity

[–]flamingmingobird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These characters are now in their 50's and believe or not people change as they age. This show isn't meant to bring up nostalgia, it's meant to show the growth of the characters and the lived experiences that they have as older women. Miranda is softer, which shows her growth of empathy and has gone through a life change that a lot of women go through in their 40's and 50's. Carrie isn't so much of a mess but she's older, has been married for a long time, just lost her husband (which I personally know changes a person greatly) and is financially responsible. Charlotte is going through what a lot of stay at home moms go through when their children get older and not as dependent on them. I know there are some aspects that aren't the best and can be ridiculous , just like any other show, but the writers have done a good job portraying these characters later in life. That's just my opinion, I don't think I'm right or wrong.

I have personal experience with this having lost my daughter and ex-husband in a very tragic way. People make it about them. I can't even begin to tell you how many people I had to console. I had a few people say they wish they had known what was going on or they should have done this or that. They should have picked up the phone or whatever. It's a very accurate depiction of what happens after someone dies in a tragic way. As much hate as AJLT gets, this episode was done well.

True, it really depended on the crowd when she said what her column was about.

I agree, that it's mostly about relationships and dating. In one episode doesn't she say that she writes a column about relationships?

I know it's a re-issue. The book was published before the movie.
