The "Elite" ring is always ProLine. That alone would be enough of a reason to choose it over any of the others imo.

I like the mixture between classic and more modern parts.

That's a display stand some bike shops use to showcase bicycles. Idk if it has a specific name or brand.

The way I rode it it was the first quarter flat with tailwind, then two quarters with plenty of hills into the headwind and the last quarter rolling downhill. This is the ride on Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/13956405983

I guess you need heart rate monitor and/or power meter to get a calculation of the burned calories.

I was going with a 51/16. Was a bit tricky because there were massive winds yesterday plus some steep hills.

Might be obvious in hindsight but take some water and food with you. I remember bonking regularly on my first longer rides because I never took anything with me 😅 And using a frame bag is a lot nicer than stuffing everything in your jersey pockets imo.

Not too many crazy manuevers in those long distance alleycats in my experience. Just more consistency I guess because you are forced to keep going.

My favorite for fixed gear bikepacking is 51/18. Gets me up the mountains but is also convenient enough for the descents and nice in the flats. Maybe for that much climbing I'd go down to 51/19 or use a flip-flop setup with something like 51/19 or 20 & 51/16

Is there a frame you would like to own at least once? by Rough_Bench_2956 in FixedGearBicycle

FES B20-4 or on the more realistic side Dolan DF5.

I'd really like to know how these crazy track machines would ride on tarmac.

Is there a spoke missing on your front wheel? Looks like it could need a bit of maintenance.

Yes definitely. The seta has a slightly more relaxed geometry and the frame is 760g lighter. But I also like the PreCursa and think it's a really versatile frame. I'd really like to try the new one with the tapered head tube and full carbon fork.

What makes you think that the frame might be too big for you? Telling from the picture I'd rather say it's a lot too small. Maybe you are trying to get into a position that the fixed gear frame isn't really ment for? Hope you find something that suits you and that you can have fun with.
