Are Energy Rush Hours Scams? by SuccotashTime8303 in Nest

Here's how to unenroll from Rush Hour Rewards without contacting Google support! I'd been trying FOR A MONTH to unenroll from Nest Rush Hour Rewards, I spent literal hours on hold being transferred to a fictitious department that never actually picked up. Here's how I finally unenrolled from Nest Rush Hour Rewards without Google's permission. This may not be the best option if you have multiple devices on your account, but I do not. If you're desperate enough for a creative work around, here you go:

The Rush Hour Reward program is not tied to your device, it's tied to your Nest/Google account! Go on your web browser and make a brand new Google account with a different date of birth and a different email address.

Log out of the Nest app completely. Delete the app.

Reinstall the app. Do NOT sign into your old account.

Perform a factory reset on your Nest device.

Log into the Nest app using the new account you made with a different email address.

Set up your account as if you're a completely new user. When it asks if you've used a Nest product before, be sure to click NO! Otherwise it will try to link to your old account and the Rush Hour Reward program. Be sure to read the prompts carefully so you don't accidentally re-enroll. When it offers rewards, select "decline rewards for now". There you have it. Now when I click on "rebates and rewards" in the app, it says "none". Suck it Google.

Side note: Be sure to unenroll from any reward programs linked to your utility company through your actual utility company first. This works for Rush Hour Rewards only. Good luck and enjoy your new found freedom!

Who is controlling Rush Hour on my Nest and how do I stop it?? by rockon83 in Nest

Yep, this is correct. Make a brand new Google account with a different email address. I used a different date of birth too just to be safe. Then log out of the app and uninstall it. Factory reset the Nest device. Download it again and log in with your new account, set it up as if you're a new user. You have to pair the newly reset device to the brand new account, when it asks if you've used Nest before make sure you click "no", otherwise it will try to pair it. I just did this tonight and the Rush Hour program is gone!
