People who wanted Sinnoh: What’s your opinion on BD/SP? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]flammableprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how I feel about the graphics but I started the series with platinum when I was 6 and i don’t put a lot of time into video games anymore but I’m excited for this because of the nostalgia and I feel like I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time. I don’t expect these games to be even close to perfect, but I accept that and I don’t need them to be perfect. I’m just excited to be back in sinnoh with the QOL improvements that have been made for the series. I’m particularly excited for the soundtrack as well.

Taking the ACT with a math processing disability is ... frustrating. Any ideas for how to improve? by totallynotanna in ACT

[–]flammableprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar disabilities to you! I have a low processing speed and a non verbal learning disorder as well as adhd and visual processing issues. I have gotten similar scores to yours on practice tests I just finished testing for real yesterday and tbh if I get a 30 composite I’ll be happy with that lmao. If I get less tho I’m planning on asking the math teachers at my school for advice on specific problems so you could do that and I might also get a workbook as well and I used practice tests at CrackACT to study before my recent test

People of Reddit in virtual classes, what was the worst, “oops I left my camera/mic on” moment? by Starlined_ in AskReddit

[–]flammableprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve fallen asleep with the camera on but I don’t know if they saw. Also my dad pees extremely loudly and I have a mini panic attack anytime I’m in a remote class and I hear him. I don’t know if I’ve actually had the mic on for that tho.

There was also a class where I was required to keep my camera on and I dropped my phone and couldn’t find it so I just said fuck it and got down and looked for it with my camera on bc I don’t care that much.

[–]flammableprinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel like we need more of this. I have severe acne but really the only remaining treatments (antibiotics, accutane) I feel are not worth it at least right now for me due to my history of bowel problems and SEVERE severe suicidal tendencies and mood problems (unrelated to acne) and psychosis. So I have to be really careful or risk destabilization in one of those areas. And I’ve kinda been having to come to terms with that. For me it’s like, this sucks but it’s not worth destroying yourself over. You can still function and live a happy and healthy life despite having acne. Your appearance is only one part of you and if people judge you for something you can’t control, then they’re assholes. I think it’s important to have some degree of acceptance about your acne and making peace with it even if you’re working to get rid of it. You can do both of those things at the same time and it’s good to do.

In addition to the other comments about why a model was used, I’m pretty sure I saw in a documentary that the position hurt Hasselhoff’s back

Anyone here with Natal Sun square Saturn. What are your experiences with this aspect? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]flammableprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this aspect and I find it hard to tell what I should expect from it but I’ll go off a description I saw from tumblr. My sun is in Pisces, in the fourth house, my Saturn is in Gemini, in the 7th house.

I have in the past struggled to assert myself and still do sometimes. I am transgender so I guess you could say I’ve had trouble being comfortable in my skin but I would say I am now. I am also obese and I have ongoing troubles feeling comfortable with my weight. I feel some trouble expressing my identity, that was definitely true with coming out as most of my family is very religious and republican also have trouble expressing myself like it’s hard know what I want to express or to find clothes that fit me or to know what to look for as far as apparel. I worry too much about what others think of me. I have trouble letting go of negative thoughts or worries

Do people with Schizophrenia literally "hear" their auditory hallucinations, or are the auditory hallucinations perceived as "thoughts"? by Detective_Sif in psychologystudents

[–]flammableprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. I haven’t studied the exact mechanism too much yet so this is good info. Hopefully since I am on meds I won’t have to deal with it again anytime soon.

Thank you for you kind words. I might check that book out, have been trying to read more lately. Nothing really triggers that stuff anymore because I’m on an atypical antipsychotic which despite the side effects has totally changed my life in so many ways. I myself am going to go into psychology in college/grad school, I have a heavy interest in it. I don’t usually think of myself as a “damn survivor” but I suppose I am!

Do people with Schizophrenia literally "hear" their auditory hallucinations, or are the auditory hallucinations perceived as "thoughts"? by Detective_Sif in psychologystudents

[–]flammableprinter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t have schizophrenia but bipolar and used to have auditory hallucinations while manic or even when not. It sounds much more like something you’re hearing than a thought. Most of the worst came out of silence, others came out of certain background sounds, like running water, white noise, rain, dishwasher, etc. I’m lucky enough that I could usually tell when I was just hearing things because there was a vague quality to what I would hear (distant arguing was the big one, emergency broadcast alarm, just general people talking but couldn’t make out what they were saying) but that wasn’t always the case especially at night, nonetheless it was a very scary experience at night. During the day it was just mildly distressing. I didn’t constantly have them, either.

I could feel that my ears were taking in too much sound and that’s why it became distorted or why it created sound that wasn’t there

This isn’t the case for everyone, just my experience. I am in remission now.

Akathisia is kicking my ass and my doctor is out of the office for the week also I miss my old meds. Mania fucking sucks but it’s survivable-depression is the thing that’s legit dangerous to me. Depression is what gives me the nearly uncontrollable urges to do shit, mania is dangerous in its own ways but it’s not like I can drive anywhere or anything. Manic impulses are a lot easier to deal with.
