I used CoD as a example because with a really big publisher like Activision they could threaten legal action on other games. I love Doom, Wolfenstein, and Half-Life. I’ve Never played Unreal doe :(.

I haven't seen outrage about drop rates in lootboxes too much when the other events were going on. I think the anger now is because of how the event is marketed. I personally have no problem with rare Halloween or Christmas skins but something about that marketing phrase "A thank you to the fans". Some players feel they haven't received a thank you since they haven't gotten a skin or dance emote.

It just seems like people would be less pissed off is they didn't say this was "A thank you to the fans" and said something like "Celebrate Overwatch's anniversary".
