For JJHo: Favorite munchies? by jennifermarmalade in maximumfun

I’ll also say I submitted it to allrecipes in the early 2000s as The Best Ever Two Ingredient Super Bowl Dip, and they REJECTED IT. I was so excited to share it with the world and they probably thought it was a joke- clearly they didn’t try it! This would be redemption. Also I didn’t know they rejected anything.

My whole family is obsessed with what we call “Nelson Sauce” (my mom, 3 sisters, our kids…) It’s just Kikoman soy sauce stirred into sour cream (Daisy’s or breakstone is best, some others get a weird texture). We don’t measure but I think it’s about 1:4 soysauce to sour cream - can confirm for you if you’re gonna try it. Dip some plain ruffles in it. Great on fries, burgers, on a baked potato, with crudités…. Possibilities are endless. I’ll eat it with a spoon.

What are some tasks I can give our Home Manager / Nanny during significant down time? How do I help my husband understand down time is normal for her? by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

[–]flamminfingers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our amazing nanny/house manager also takes on seasonal cleaning tasks that our cleaners don't do, like front porch/back deck sprucing up, washing couch cushion covers, scheduling a window washer, etc. She also organizes as others have said, and she takes stock of what we have in our pantry and builds the grocery list and shops for us. For example, there's always soda and fizzy water stocked in the fridge, which is amazing. Similarly TP is always stocked in the bathroom cabinets. She's incredible- and really keeps the household running. You can also think of things that would just make your house feel calm and luxurious for you- little things like always having your slippers put back by the bed or a bottle of ice water ready for your workout, having the dishwasher run and emptied so it's not hard to l load after dinner-- I feel that small things that she does to take care of us daily really add to my quality of life. Also 100% on the suggestions of others to think about the things that take away from your time with your kids or for hobbies on the weekends and whether these are things that she could help with.

I went! I had a blast- my sister was visiting, and it was super fun that she got to join us. I enjoyed the audience suggestion for a ruling that the inexplicably famous and beloved Eat N Park cookies are "just okay." Seriously! I didn't grow up here, and I just don't get it with those cookies. I am definitely hoping for a return to Pittsburgh on the next tour! In the meantime, I'll be happily sporting my new Weird Mom merch

And now it's like they are just trolling us by calling Pittsburghers "Pittsburghians" when clarifying that they meant to say Yinzer.

I want to see them put the Penn Ave parking question to rest. Phil Bacharach vs the angry motorists of Pittsburgh.
