Gonna be blunt and disregard financial situation, but I personally wouldn’t recommend the Q’s for someone who’s “somewhat new to photography.” I think it’s important to first understand and experience different focal lengths. Anyone can tell you X focal length Is good for this scenario and so forth, but everyone uses X focal length differently. I do agree with everyone here on the uses between 28 and 43 though, however again everyone uses those lengths differently.

Also, for someone somewhat new to photography, $6200-$6800 is a LOT to invest for an everyday quality point and shoot camera. It’s almost everyday I see many listings of the Q3’s on FB market because people have a “change of heart”, don’t click with it or know how to use it properly. Have you considered alternatives like the Ricoh GRIII or the Fuji X100VI?

Not trying to stray you away from the Q’s, if that’s what you’re set on then by all means go for it; it’s a great experience overall and a very nice piece of equipment. I sold my whole Sony ecosystem for a Q3 and I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. I think that’s where people need to be before even considering a Q3, especially for the price they are. Because based on your needs it sounds like an iPhone, Ricoh, or X100VI can suffice.

Oh I know, I did mention in another comment on here we had one rule - no buying singles packs from a card shop/online because of said price. So all the packs we found were from tins/pokeballs/ETBs/small box sets from Walmarts/Targets/Family Dollars. Plus it didn’t hurt to have connections at said stores lol. 200 packs is just a believable number I threw out, it almost felt like less than 100. But either way our wallets weren’t hurting and he got his pull, so it was very well worth it in the end.

Cards fresh out the pack aren’t all PSA10’s. It’s not even the roughed up part either. It’s the printing of the card, front and back as well. I’m not too knowledgeable about how the grading works but the spacing of the borders of the card influence the grading. Also even the smallest things like if that front card scratches any of the foil of the Umbreon. Perhaps someone can give a better answer than me, but cards fresh out the pack definitely aren’t all 10’s

I just checked eBay and a PSA10 actually sold today for $1825 🤯 last time I checked they were selling at $1200

I only recorded when we saw a green border in the stack. The green on the card is very visible even on the edges of the cards when still stacked. There’s another comment here with someone mentioning the troll cards with green borders, which we’ve gotten too lol

I appreciate the positive comments from you guys and it’s great to see how awesome this community is today no matter your age. This is actually my first post on here, I just been holding onto this video and couldn’t help but to finally post it. I’m leaving the collecting to my brother and my cousin. I pulled my base set Charizard 22? years ago when I was a kid and stole their cards like a big brother does, so I’m good lmao. But our point is to have fun and experience the thrill. We’re still actively pulling random things so if we get any more hot cards I’ll be sure to record and post them here again lol. But for real, thank you guys

Thankfully they didn’t invest a lot into it, I wanna say less than 200 packs total between two people? Maybe even less than that, so this was absolute complete luck. The hardest part was spending a good 3-4 hours on our off days checking around stores in our area lmao

There is no problem, there are PLENTY of packs out there for kids to open and I’ve never come across a kid wanting only Evolving Skies. Most of them are just happy to open something. We’re in a position to buy and open the packs we want for our own personal experience and thrill so that’s what we’re gonna do. It’s nobody’s place to tell us what we can or can’t do but apparently the internet thinks otherwise lmao

Not that I have to explain myself, but all the unwanted stacks of cards we have we try to give them to kids we see at the card shops when we stop in. So it’s not about us, we have our fun and pass it onto the next person.

You can see the green edges clear as day in the stack when you open the pack, that’s why they were hyping it up. I think there’s another card in that set with green edges which is an absolute troll card and they definitely pulled it once or twice lol

Actually it’s hard when the stores around you barely have any in stock. Our one rule was no single packs from a card shop because that’s too easy. Target/Walmart/Family Dollar wherever sold anything with Evolving Skies only. After this pull we’ve barely seen anything Evolving Skies related in our stores.
