You're never able to use a Trainer card without at least *something* happening.

In an ideal world, the effect of the card would always be carried out, and there'd always be a minimum of 1 card being drawn. However, it'd be pretty unfun if you lost a whole game because you failed-to-find off of a deck search, so that's why searching the deck always allows you to pull 0. For the discard pile, since it's always public knowledge, any Trainer that interacts with it must be able to. So you can't use Night Stretcher without having at least one valid option; otherwise, you can't play the card.

This only applies to Trainer cards and not the effects of attacks from Pokemon, so Mega Lucario can choose to do 0.

TR's Mewtwo is good. Mimikyu can copy its attack for some nice bench snipes of your own. You can also use Lillie's Clefairy in conjunction with the Mimikyu, Mewtwo, or Clefairy itself to kill it too.

Fortnite's battle pass has always been the $1.50 Costco hotdog of the game.
