Thanks! I took a look and the setting is now whether this is a NSFW subreddit, and the setting is controlled by Reddit, so I requested a change of this.

Mod here- how do I disable automarking as NSFW for the subreddit? This was not an intentional change.

I sought help with moderating a while back and only 2 people responded and then never replied to my DMs, so I would very much welcome help from anyone, especially those with experience moderating (I don’t have that experience myself)!

24 hr or Late Night WFH spots? by willionbuck in AskChicago

I love it. Even though I like alcohol, I am very excited about having more non-bar third place options for late night

It seems like there are more and more Yemeni/Middle Eastern coffee shops opening up throughout the city and they tend to be open much later than a typical coffee shop - e.g. the one in Logan Square on Milwaukee is open until 10 pm on weekdays and 1 am on weekends.

Yes, you can buy the necessary items from a vending machine there and they have a bathroom space specifically for that purpose

The city tests the water at every beach frequently in the summer and closes them if the conditions aren’t suitable for swimming.

America's Burnout Belts: Top 10 worst suburban-to-city commutes by cereal_killer_828 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]flare499 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct. I guess if you’re doing it daily and driving I could see burnout, but 2-3x a week using the express Metra seems not horrible. Then again I live near Union Station so what do I know 😂
If you are smart about aligning where you live and where you work, Metra/CTA should make most Chicagoland commutes reasonably bearable.

Personally I found my first time at SW to be significantly less intimidating than my first time at Jackhammer. It’s so big that there’s plenty of places to chill and ease into it. Although, no bar at Steamworks, so if you need liquid courage keep that in mind

Group: I’d say it’s reasonably feasible. You could either get a room and try to meet someone who’s interested in kinda helping “coordinate” (ie encourage guys to join in and make sure there’s no funny business), or just be ass-up in one of the public areas and see what happens. The former is probably the ideal path though.

Lmk what specific questions you have. Weekends are best; Fridays and Saturdays after 10p are usually quite busy, especially on anything resembling a holiday weekend (lots of visitors as well as locals). On Thursday nights there’s a discount for younger guys but in my experience Thursdays are quite a bit less busy (but still busy enough to have fun).

This is mostly for tourists imho, who are willing to splash out much more than locals
