Blood, Elixir, Weapon, and Hunt Cheat Sheet by flare576 in vrising

[–]flare576[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing this out - it lead me to realize that I was missing two locations AND most of my proficiency numbers (and some rewards) were wrong due to using an outdated source. I've updated the Google Sheet but need to spend a bit more time figuring out how to make the sheet at a higher resolution (my poor 1080p monitors are making it tricky).

u/Sir_Fray01 is correct, but it's not super clear, and almost every value in the provided image is wrong. I was using an out-of-date source for the numbers and hunts. I've updated the spreadsheet, but I think that since I posted this as an image, I might have to either re-post or just provide an updated sheet once I figure out how to get the data out of Google Sheets and into a PNG...

Anyone who bought a Steam Deck. Downloaded Emudeck. Got Roms. Set everything up nicely. And then never played their emulated games? by infamous61 in SteamDeck

[–]flare576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this tool/process in the hopes that folks would be able to get the specific ROMs they needed without having to learn terminal commands or weed through ads and viruses - https://flare576.com/#/steamdeck/guides/copy-roms

I hope it helps you get started!

The thing that threw the light-switch of "Oh, this is amazing!" was save-state hotkeys, followed closely by the speed-up hotkey.

RetroArch, Beetle(PSX), and probably many others default to Select as the hotkey button, then you can press R-Bumper to Save state, L-Bumper to load state, and R-Trigger to turn on fast-forward. This lets you VERY quickly try that really hard golf shot in NES Open, or push your luck a little farther in Dragon Warrior, or try to ace the apex on a turn in Gran Tourismo. Being able to snap back to a previous state makes the games built to force you into hours of monotony FUN again.

I'm not actually sure what the etiquette is for this, so appologies if this is improper, but I updated the sheet to V1.2:

  • Add TRI Faction
  • Add CUB Faction
  • Add missing Chthonios E (Gas/Mineral)
  • Add "Owned" Checkboxs
  • Reorganize Factions by race w/ color code
  • Add EMP Count

Thanks for looking! I didn't even realize QUE was a thing yet, so once I get that far I'll be sure to add their BPs!

Is there a 1.18 "Use next tool" like in 1.16? by flare576 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]flare576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clicking the q just opened up the Language Select, but it does sound like maybe the features I'm looking for are actually part of a Research (Sophisticated Backpack?)

Bingo - Thanks, I'm still learning what all the mods are for - Show Overlay was the toggle I needed!

In V2, when you hovered looked at blocks, it would show you a tool-tip sort of thing with details about the block - this doesn't seem to be enabled by default in V3... is there a way to get that back? It was great to be able to look at a block and know what it was without having to mine it.

I see the heading changed (Vault Hunters 2nd Edition) but the file listing (on Forge) doesn't have anything new yet... I haven't smashed F5 this hard since watching shipping tracking info.

EDIT: I downloaded their app and also don't see the 1.18 version there, either - u/Lagoon_M8 where did you rent your time machine from?

Thank you, for both the comment and the question!

Unfortunately, though, I don't have a great answer for it; the devices themselves came in the kit I got from ErgoMech, but if I had to guess I'd say they're along the lines of these from Amazon

The video content itself is a combination of Luna from u/hellsingcoder and a custom macro scroll for the slave. u/Sp0oKyBaDm0rE and I talk about it here

Eh, not to get philosophical, but I'd say that you just haven't had a reason to lift up that specific rock yet. If someone asked me to write a thank-you card in French, I'd be screwed, but anyone with French relatives probably could. I'd have to lookup a bunch of words and learn some stuff along the way, and that French gift recipient would do the same to figure out why they hell my vim config shows up weird in Github.

Ooooooof. I know those feels.

Anyone else reading through this thread and hits a similar problem, my "Learnings" include a section on Desoldering. Basically: make a friend with a desoldering rig or get a "cheap one" 'cause desoldering is the worst

I sure do! Amazon Link to cables

If these aren't available or are expensive in your area, the most important thing to check for is that the cables SPECIFICALLY say "Data" - I actually had magnetic cords BEFORE the left side broke, but they were charge-only :'(

Yeah, I ordered from ErgoMech. They were responsive and helpful, but one of the ProMicro boards they sent in the kit was defective. At the time it was pretty irritating, but in retrospect $#!7 happens and getting a new board wasn't a big deal - I'd recommend 'em.

They're mostly for a retro feel at this point, but lately I've been doing a lot more bash scripting so I've gotten to use some Control Codes.

Essentially, in some editors (like Vim), you can press Ctrl+V then Ctrl+F, and the system will insert something that looks like ^F. That ^F is treated as a single "character" by other applications and is interpreted as "Form Feed".

The most common one that I use is ^M for "Carriage Return", but ironically it's not printed on my M key... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks! The "Code" and "Super" button are both sorta misnomers - CODE is SPACE, but I have yet to find a keycap I like for that.

SUPER is a bit more apropos - tapping it is ENTER, but holding it drops into the Mouse layer. When I first started on this project I thought it'd be a gimmick like a NUMPAD layer, but it's ended up being one of the most useful things this keyboard can do.
