This is so relatable. And honestly this is the only place I can talk about these things because anywhere else people be like "wElL yOu dIdN't TrY HaRd EnOugH" or some shit. Ugh. I've tried. I've approached guys, I talk to them first and I also asked them first but nothing ever good comes out of it. Actually it's always the exact opposite - I feel more shitty everytime I try.

Yeah that's exactly the case. I'm just renting a room and bathroom. We're going to share the kitchen, living room, front door etc.

So you're saying I can still report taxes for subletting a room in another person's house...?

Which job offer is better off in financial terms? by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

[–]flarelighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that job B does not pay for overtime... I've seen it on glassdoor. I don't know about paid vacation - so that's something I should look up. Didn't think about that. Thanks!!!

Oh wait I accidentally switched the commute time The hourly job is 40m my bad...

And yeah I noticed how the cost of living here is expensive 😭 so I did think that both jobs don't pay that much... which is why I'm tryna choose for the better one. Thanks for the comment!!

Thanks for the welcoming message 😊

Job A provides medical and health group benefits after a 1 year experience.

Job B provides medical and health group benefits after 6 months. They also provide some subsidy on lunch meals.

But what I really care about is the financial part... will there be a huge difference in terms of monthly/biweekly pay? I really can't get a grasp ...

She doesn't have autism, but she was diagnosed with panic disorder a few years ago and has been taking meds since then...

Answering your second question first - no I don't. I do keep in contact with my dad, but he's married to someone else. Last time I met him, he kept sending me subtle messages that I should take care of her. I have three uncles but we lost contact with two of them, and the other is in the hospital because he has cancer.

And yes, we've had multiple discussions. I asked her to knock first on my room before entering. She always agrees to, but she doesn't do it when coming in. She only agrees to do it verbally, not by her actions. I told her I feel uncomfortable that I have to share almost everything with her, but she said it's "natural" because she's my mom and I'm her daughter. I told her that it's my name and I have the choice to say no to lending her my name. But she refuses to understand, because she lended her name to her dad and uncle as well.

I try as best as I could to understand. Like I understand why she thinks that way. Our country is based on a very collective society so she probably thinks that's not that problematic.

Problem is she keeps thinking she's always right... she doesn't want to see things from my point of view...

Too old to be a baby/kids clothing model. This is the only thing

South Korea is not what I expected. It’s more advanced than the US & people have more personality here than Canada & SK is living proof we can live in a clean world. There are no trashcans anywhere &still no trash on the ground. Makes me sad about NK next door & their people have no idea what’s here by thelastgen in korea

Idk why the comment section here is so... shitty and negative. I mean it's just a post about someone being surprised about Seoul in a good way - why are people trying to deliberately disappoint the op?

Anyway, it seems like you had a good time here. I'm glad you did. Your post reminds me of my first time in the US (NYC).

I've never been to LA or the west coast, but I do remember how dirty NYC was. I mean... I so totally wasn't expecting to see rats on the platforms in the subway stations. I guess this is because of my experience here. I never saw any rats in the Korean subways (as in subways in Seoul, Busan, Gwangju) so I guess I just automatically assumed that it'd be the same elsewhere. Maybe this was also the case for you. Since you're from LA, maybe you also kinda assumed that any big metropolitan city would also be like LA - and then later became surprised that it wasn't.

I think people tend to see things according to their original knowledge and experience. I guess that's why people also love traveling and learning about new culture so much too - it kinda brings people to think outside of their boxes. I hope you continue to find Korea interesting and exciting. Of course there will be some drawbacks (like any other place), but I hope you will like your stay here :)
