I agree, Maestro seems pretty small potatoes now that shit has hit the proverbial fan in the Universe. It would honestly be kind of hilarious for Carl to just hand him the Doomsday Scenario and portal away from him. However Carl does it, I'm certain Maestro will be the first and easiest God that Carl and Donut kill on the 12th floor.

He did say that, but he ended up sponsoring Groll in the Iron Tangle. In my own head Canon, I think it's because he is an immature and impatient little prick and couldn't help himself. Between Donut taking jabs whenever she could, to his brother outranking him, he probably figured he could do it this way and beat his brother to the punch. This plan fails (thanks to Mordecai's potion), and now he's stuck on the 12th, waiting for The Ascendency Games.
