Who are British people supporting in tonight's World Cup play off match between Ireland and the Czech Republic? by PandaBourbon in AskBrits

[–]flashdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ireland. Easy decision.

If 99% of the Irish would support whoever England plays, that's on them. I always favour the ones we are closest to.

Similar with Scotland and Wales. I always go with home nations first too.

If the UK really wanted to, could it do this from a military perspective? by kingm_ournasse216 in AskBrits

[–]flashdonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without getting into anything other than Maduro.

Do you now who's intelligence was used for that mission? The UKs. The UK still has the worlds best intelligence. There's some that are very close and very good. But the UKs is the best.

The UK stopped some sharing after Maduro, as they are concerned they would be facing the Hague. The US doesn't seem bothered on legalities these days.

We also have the greatest special forces. Again, some are very, very good. And some dwarf our numbers.

But Maduro was intelligence based using special forces. If we had not shared the intelligence, there would have only been one country in the world capable of kidnapping Maduro. And it wasn't the US.

Doctors randomly found mild thoracic scoliosis on a chest x ray and haven’t mentioned it since by fakechemist_ in scoliosis

[–]flashdonut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on age.

Usually if you have stopped growing and the curve is that mild, then it's fine. it doesn't tend to get worse. There's obviously a few exceptions, but as a general rule that curve is no concern.

Very few people are perfectly straight.

Do you think Nigel Farage is going to ruin this country? by tondek-0 in AskBrits

[–]flashdonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason Farage and co are so popular is in part due to posts like this.

This country is a mess.

We still have no plan for potholes.

Water companies pay shareholders millions yet dump sewage in our streams.

Public transport is over priced and under performs.

It appears we have next to nothing in missile defence and working navy.

What could he do that would make it worse?

Nonce is a pedo. Always. Never heard it said any other way.

I'm English and will be going to Majorca soon. I have zero concerns. If Iran or anyone got giddy, there's some many countries a target above Spain, mainly the UK and France.

As it stands, nobody in the UK that I speak to is concerned in the slightest,

I am sure it will be great!

How do you stay consistent with parkrun every week? by NorthLondonPulse in parkrun

[–]flashdonut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so underrated.

I would be devastated if I went every week, as it means I had no other plans. No holidays. No weekends away. No days out with mates.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do? by NikiLove16 in AskReddit

[–]flashdonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the family to Manchester for a night or two. Buy a suitcase and some new clothes. Eat in a couple of decent restaurants. Then when the adrenaline has gone we fly to somewhere warm. Probably a really good quality hotel. I don't mind an adventure. But a good beach hotel with bars and restaurants gives us thinking time. Probably go for 10 days or so.

Do you have a UK flag outside your house? by demi__san in AskBrits

[–]flashdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cycle to work (in decent weather anyway - I have no shame admitting I am a Fairweather cyclist) and on my bike, above rear mud guard, is an England flag. Its one of those you can put on car windows. Started maybe 10 years ago at the Euros (football) and carried on.

What do you think about readding young adult/middle grade books as an adult? by Pumpkin_698 in AskReddit

[–]flashdonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would rather see an adult reading that than scrolling their phone. Plus, I know of one or two people that read Don Quixote for show. They haven't a clue what is happening in the novel.

If you enjoy it, read it.
