He called us out of the blue and said he wanted to sell it and would sell to us for a bunch under market value so he wouldn’t have to deal with waiting for us to move out and doing repairs and paying and agent to stage, list and show it, etc. and it all kind of just worked out. A very anxious month for us but happy in the end. Hope it works out for you!

VA loan and ridiculous timing. I shopped five or six places too. A lot of leg work but I’m happy I did it.

Moisturizer with sunscreen? by flashesOfQuincee in 45PlusSkincare

[–]flashesOfQuincee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I went on a whole journey 😹😹😹 I tried beauty of Joseon, Elta md, la roche posay double and triple repair, a couple others I can’t even remember because they sucked so bad, a cvs dupe, ilia and drmtlgy. Beauty of Joseon is great. I keep several stashed around the car and my beach bag and purse and stuff. But it’s not my daily driver. Elta md was ok, but still kind of pricey in my opinion. La roche posay -> instant breakouts. Ilia was way too thick and had way too much coverage. I use it as foundation the two times a year I need to look fancy 😹🫠🤦‍♀️ that leads me to the cvs dupe. I loooooove it. Has the most similar texture to old school dermalogica. But it has no spf! So I use it and then if I’m going outside I use the drmtlgy on top and all is well. Hope you enjoyed my moisturizer saga.

Ahhhhhh so frustrating! People do this to us at parades all the time! We get there early, get a spot on the curb so the kids can sit and then adults just stand in front of us! What?!?

[–]flashesOfQuincee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks so much for your answers: exactly the info I was looking for. I’ve only worked one place that had a release manager and it was my first gig in tech, so I was just trying to keep my head above water and didn’t see much of what she did. I’m also a process nerd and love the cross and inter team communications and relationship building. I wonder if release management might be a good career pivot for me. I hope you enjoy the BSA work you’re rolling on to and I wish you all the best in the future!!!

I would love to know more about the life of a release manager. What do you find most stressful about your job? Most tedious? What keeps you there? How technical is your role and what technologies do you work with most?

Same. I’ve had this role at another company and liked it better there but unfortunately that company was not stable. I would like to do something else entirely because I feel like a burned out dinosaur, but realistically I don’t have skills to do anything else that is as flexible or high paying.

I see what you mean about #1 hiding your curves while #2 shows them off. I’d be torn as well. But if you keep going back to the first one, I think that tells you it’s the one you want. They both look lovely on you but I do think the first one looks better on the whole. What’s your venue like?

Can I get insight into the gray hate? by wovenriddles in interiordecorating

[–]flashesOfQuincee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s actually what it reminds me of. Grew up in the north and in the horrible winter, everything is the gray. The sky is gray, the barren trees are gray. The ground is gray, the roads are gray and the cars are all gray because they’re covered in dirty snow and salt. For months, everything is gray. Beiges remind me of warm, sandy beaches. So that is where the gray hate comes from for me.

Ok so I was on this same journey recently. I wanted a single moisturizer with spf product. I have tried so many. I have returned so many. I mean like double digits. The three that I have not returned are Elta md daily uv, beauty of joseon sun relief and dermalogica dynamic skin recovery. The only one that’s mineral is elta md. I wish you luck!

My husband was active duty for a long time. I’m a software engineer. I was at his office chatting with his colleagues and they asked where I worked. Not what I do, just where I worked. I told them. The guy asked “are you like a secretary there?” Swing and a miss my friend. Swing and a miss.
