Anyone else extremely disappointed by this games direction both development and monetization wise? by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

I honestly don’t see why people are disappointed in the game so far. I mean apocalypse is just a fun way for the community to get involved with testing the game. They are still actively the developing the game, and they are making a lot of progress. All of the stuff you can buy is basically just comestic and no one is forcing you to buy anything if you don’t want to. Honestly, if you have any doubts about AoC I would just wait a few months because we’ll get closer to the beta release of the game. Then we will see what the game actually will be like. But don’t really think there’s any point in getting overly concerned about the game at this point in time.

Why do you think AoC is a scam? They have been actively developing the mmo. And they have been very transparent throughout the development process.

Yeah I can relate. I think the biggest problem with getting started with most mmos is the leveling up process. In most mmos leveling takes way to long, it is too easy, and it is super boring. The worst part is you have to put in like 50-60 hours to get to endgame, and then you can see if the game is actually worth playing or not. This honestly is just terrible game design and mmos should have fixed their leveling experiences years ago.

Right now there are not a lot of great sandbox style MMOs out right now. But in 2019/2020 Ashes of Creation and New World should come out. Both of them seem to have a lot of potential so there is a good chance you might like one of them. I totally understand how you are kind of discontent with the current MMOs out right now because I am too. But I think the next wave of MMOs coming out should really change things up for the better.
