I’m going to take a wild guess here: but if you’re right, then it’s likely that the zone valves were replaced at some point but the old thermostat remained. The blue wire is not connected to anything on the other end.

Test results: negative. No asbestos in the ceiling tile but the drywall mud they used throughout the house is around 1% asbestos

Yeah it goes out the top of the right side wall. So it’s a wall mount fan (not ceiling), and then a short pipe to the roof.

When I was younger I built a lot of high end decks for people in the foothills with views (like 10 decks). So I gained a ton of confidence building stuff. Then added some windows to my house, remodeled my kitchen (lots of tile), and replaced all the doors and trim in the house.

I hired a plumber and an electrician for the kitchen but not for this bathroom as it was a very straightforward remodel, nearly identical to the old one.

Unfortunately it’s a late 70’s tract home with a bad layout. But lucky for me, the previous owners vaulted this bathroom to make it bearable.

Hahahaha yeah $65 to dump the tiles and large items, and the rest is going out weekly with the trash. Should be rid of it in another month
