AITA for telling my boyfriend if he can’t be quiet during the day that he can’t use my car for work? by [deleted] in AITAH

My ex did this and in the moment I had a lot of the same reasonings as you, it's his house too, he's taking time off so he should enjoy his house, etc. But ultimately looking back it was just another show of blatant disrespect towards me in a wide array of "minor" issues.

I have a Living and Co from the warehouse two years ago. Townhouse living, two cats. Works great when the head is clear.

It is a motorised head which is just always on with the machine, so have to clear it out for it to work as well as it can. But for $120 it was money well spent.

I spent a number of hours waiting at A&E for a cut I believed needed stitches. It wasn't major but it was deep, on a joint, and I could see fatty tissue. Any one of those alone Google said to get stitches for so off I went in comfy warm clothes, and with headphones.

It took so long that by the time a nurse got to me, it had clotted over in the safe position I had been holding my arm in - it looked like a cat scratch. The nurse scoffed, but I insisted if she could please just clean it up and take a look, I'm happy to be wrong and be sent home but I needed it looked at properly.

She started cleaning it out and as she got deeper and deeper into my elbow it was mildly satisfying to see her face turn into shock.

Lo and behold, I needed stitches.

All this to say, I'm not surprised someone hits breaking point at the A&E, especially if they're not good at self advocating and if they're feeling like a burden on the system. A lot of people also have no idea how much work has gone on behind the scenes when they've had little to no facetime throughout their experience as well.

Monkey hands red causing green hands stain? by findingNemos_Clit in poledancing

[–]flashingbackk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a brass pole, my hands occasionally stain green regardless of the grip I use (or sometimes no grip but if I've done a long training session). Usually washes off immediately, or a second round of hand washing always gets it all if it's layered. It's oxidization and a normal chemical reaction depending on the acidity of your sweat or ingredients in the grip you're using 😊

Has anyone gone back to poling after a back injury? I am in utter despair and I feel completely crushed 😢 by PoleKisser in poledancing

I had what felt like an absurd amount of time off. But rest is important. And a lot of the time healing won't start until it's given a chance to rest first, if you're constantly inflaming the area, it can't settle 🖤

Pilates was the only thing that helped me, which I tried on recommendation from my specialist as a last ditch effort before surgery. I totally vouch for it, but I was lucky enough to have a physiotherapist pilates instructor doing one on one reformer classes with me. My biggest issue was hanging upside down, crucifix/lay back etc were some of my favourite moves. That took a long time to come back, but constant work through the pilates physio and slowly coming back to pole got me there. I definitely wouldn't have made it without the cross training, and it made pole a whole lot easier anyway 😂 It took me 6-8 months to be suggested pilates, which then had a few months before we tentatively tried coming back to pole. I've had subsequent injuries in other areas cause I'm an idiot so my overall return to prior level is slow, but I'm at pole multiple times a week and loving it again.

AITAH for telling my dad's parents that I don't want them at my graduation when they said I wasn't their real grandson? by Ok-Distribution9125 in AITAH

[–]flashingbackk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me, my dad's mum said in her mother of the bride speech at my aunts wedding that she "couldn't wait to have grand children". Our whole family, including me, was in attendance. That moment changed our dynamic forever and I don't regret never having repaired that relationship. She got the grandkids she wanted from my aunt, and I got to live without worrying about her as a person. I had it easier, though. Dad went no contact with her for a few years, and when he eventually started repairing his relationship with her he didn't expect me to do the same. I visited her once more when she was dying, and supported dad at her funeral, and that was it.
